Stepping off the plane Arjun had a strange sense of coming home, even though he wasn't very fond of Indian lifestyle, still he liked being home. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh evening air. Something in the air just seemed to make him smile and it did not go away even as he was entering the crowded airport, making his way along with the other passengers.
He had no luggage to reclaim as He was travelling only with a Brown Leather Duffel Bag, which sped things up and he went straight for the exit. He felt his father's presence there, yet as He was looking at the many faces of the people, waiting, for his father, whom, he could not find.
Arjun kept walking slowly trying to spot him, but it was only once he'd moved past the majority of people that He saw his father coming over to Him. He stopped and just stared for some moment. It had been a long time since he'd seen his father, may be more than a year and he had changed a lot since.
Then Arjun walked over to meet His father and touched his feet to respect. "Dad, how are you?"
"How was your journey?" Mr. Malhotra, Arjun's father asked as he reached for a fatherly embrace.
"All right, though it was a very long trip."
"Are you feeling hungry? Want to eat something?" Mr. Malhotra asked, as they were walking out of the airport.
"No, dad just bring the car around, I just want to go home take some rest" Arjun replied.
After Arjun's Duffel Bag was loaded in the back seat, he climbed into the car with his father in the driving seat and he sitting in the passenger seat.
"How is mom? Moreover, what about Dhruv? Why didn't he come with you to pick me up this time"? Arjun asked his father, as he started driving toward their house.
"Everybody is all right. Your mom and I are keeping us healthy and Dhruv is busy with his studies, he also wants to do something good like you." Mr. Malhotra explained his son the scenario of the house quickly.
"I am sure Dhruv, will do better than me" Arjun smiled.
"How is your job and when will your project getting over?"
"My job is going through a pretty good phase and by the way I enjoy a lot in Chicago. I just finished one of the biggest projects a couple of weeks ago. Now that it is done, I took a long leave and come to visit you. Why don't you all come with me this time I go back to Illinois?"
"We will see that later, I like being in India but surely we will visit Chicago soon" Mr. Malhotra answered, and Arjun respond with a smile. He looked out of the window as his father was driving; the noise, the smell the hocking vehicles. As they drove through the road and it took him back to his college days and he found out how much miss this in the US and its disciplined roads.
When they arrived home, though it was the month December It was hot because the heater was on.
"Bhaiya!" Dhruv, Arjun's brother squealed and ran to him for a hugged. With the noise his mother came out from the kitchen with a bowl, but as she saw Arjun, she placed the bowl on the table and she also ran to him.
He touched his mother's feet and hugged Dhruv.
