Supplies

I was cutting through the city looking for some supplies. I had my cross bow loaded and aimed, ready to shoot at any zombies that decided they wanted to take me on, and I had my little brother propped on my back. We came upon a newer apartment building that must have been evacuated recently. So I decided to go in and look for any leftover food. You have to be careful while going through buildings because
there could be a zombie hiding behind any corner.

I set my brother down next to me, and kicked open the locked door to the first apartment and began to look through the cupboards and refrigerator. I didn't find very much, only a few water bottles and a couple jars of canned fruits. It's better than nothing though. I than began to rummage through the rest of the apartment looking for other useful things such as flashlights, cloths, knives and so on.

My little brother managed to find a little green, plastic army man on the floor in the living room, whoever lived here must have had children. It was rather quiet in the apartment I could hear the mice running through the walls. In certain spots the ugly musty floral wallpaper was starting to tear as well. They had left everything out like they were in a hurry. Cupboards were open, dirty dishes in the sink, even a curling iron was still sitting out on the bathroom counter.

I looked through the medicine cabinet and grabbed any first aid supplies I could find. Any plants they had were either dead or majorly over grown. In the bedroom there were some empty gun racks, which meant they probably took all the weapons, well except for some kitchen knives I grabbed.

The apartment was really creepy and smelt like mildew, but since the door had been locked that meant I was the first to sift through it. It's amazing what can happen to a place after only six months being abandon, although having some of the windows opened a crack probably helped sped the process up.
