I couldn't argue with her, I knew she was right. So as I took chase's small hand in mine, we followed her out of the apartment building to the group of survivors. I just stared in amazement how many survivors there were. Not just two or three but a group of at least twenty were waiting for us. They were so nice, and excepting of us.
On the long mission to Base 12, they taught me so much about killing zombies, things I would have never learned on my own, Chase met some other children that were in the group as well, I haven't seen him smile and laugh like that since before the outbreak.
That was 3 years ago, and we are still alive. The only reason we have survived this long is because of Norah and the other survivors. Were a team and we watch each other's backs. That day three years ago I realized that trying to survive by myself just wasn't working, that two heads are better than one. When the apocalypse first began, every day I wasn't sure if I would make it to the next, and the only thing that kept me going was my brother, but now that we have our new family, I know we can survive. Who knows maybe we will even find a way to end this whole thing.
To be continued.... Suggestions to make my story longer would be awesome!!
