Of course, the phone calls came, why was she here, what was the actual reason she was here and why now leaving Carla to get rather annoyed and upset about the whole thing, of course, this affected her mood and Lucas immediately cottoned on to her odd behaviour. They didnt argue instead he supported her in a dignified way which she liked, in a way she wasn't treated as insignificant. Knowing Carla she immediately had that fire back in her belly and rang Michelle to see if they could sort this out because when she thought about it she couldn't do this without her Michelle accepted hesitantly making sure she kept up her façade but she really was just curious and wanted to be nosey, well who wouldn't when their friend for life showed up with a brand new husband.
"She's late" Carla mutters as Michelle walks around the corner "Are you going to bite my head off?"
"Ok maybe I was a little bit cold, shall we just start again?" she questions as Carla nods slowly "How about we have a drink at the pub?"
"Yeah sounds good" she nods as Michelle raises her eyebrows "Oh sorry, this is Lucas, Michelle meet Lucas and Lucas meet Michelle, she's practically my sister"
"Nice to meet you" he nods as Michelle gives him the once over before they all walk towards the Rover's and head in, of course, Peter was serving causing Michelle to bite her lip
"Want a bottle of red?"
"I'm not going to I need to drive to the bank later" Carla smiles as Michelle nods "Don't let me stop you two though"
"Oh you won't" Michelle grins "Cant you go to the bank another time?"
"It needs to be today" Carla states shiftily as Lucas smiles slightly at her knowing she didnt really want to drink as she was improving on herself and had been whilst she was in Devon and that involved not drinking
"Oh come on Carla don't be boring" Michelle drones as Carla shakes her head being stubborn over the situation, she slides out of the booth to get some air
"She's just gone for some air," Lucas says as Michelle nods slowly using this time to interrogate him "So tell me about yours and Carla's relationship"
"I should probably check on her-" Michelle starts as Lucas shakes his head sliding out of the booth as well
"It's ok, I'll do it," he says walking off before Michelle could protest, he walks into the Rover's back yard seeing Carla sitting under the smoking shelter "Hey"
"Sorry" she sighs in response, he sits next to her and takes her hand "It's hard to believe that some people can't let others change"
"I know" he whispers as Carla flashes him a smile "I think you need to have an honest conversation with her, I can make my excuses and say I have some business to do in town if that helps?"
"You wouldn't mind?" she questions turning to face him, he nods in response kissing her softly "You can go now and I'll tell her"
"Alright, I'll see you back at the hotel yeah?"
"Yeah" she nods as he heads back into the pub, she sighs slightly glancing to the sky, of course, Peter comes out of the back door of the pub "Oh great"
"Just here for a smoke," he says gesturing to his fag "He seems nice"
"He is, much better than you" she states looking at him directly in the eye, he frowns and sits beside her causing her to raise an eyebrow as if he was taking advantage
"That's good you deserve to have someone who treats you well," he says as she nods slowly in response plucking the cigarette from his fingers and taking a drag "You shouldn't do that, might start up a nasty habit-"
