(Note: some of the dialogue/plot have been modified for the sake of this story, it's nothing major though. Everything falls into place just as the movie, but some parts have been added to fit a place for Reader (you) to be added! Short cuz this is just a prologue)

"They're oddly life-like...for dolls"
"Look, I know that you really want to stay home and study but we haven't talked in so long and..." Jade trailed off nervously as she clutched the phone in her hands, trying her best to keep it down knowing that her strict uncle could be listening in at any time. He was a police officer and therefore thought that he could apply that same authority to set ground rules for his niece. All of which, are completely unfair and pretty much take away from her social life. "I want you to come with us. It'll be fun, I think" She concluded.
On the other end of the phone was Jade's long time friend, (Y/n). The girl was a busybody, always studying or cleaning. She had to be doing something at all times and Jade could just feel the stress leaking from her pores. Not only did she feel kind of uneasy about this trip, but she wanted to take her friend's mind off of how she was basically a house maid.
"Jade are you kidding me!? I have to stay here. Y-you know that" (Y/n) replied with a shocked tone, as if it was something her friend should already know. The (H/c) haired female resumed picking up various clothes items of her mother's and depositing them into a basket to be washed. "I'm happy that you and Jesse have plans to settle and be together but I can't just leave and go on some adventure" She spoke that part quietly.
Jade worried her bottom lip between her teeth and clenched her eyes shut at the rejection. Perhaps she could say something to change her mind...maybe like bringing up what the trip was for? Yes! That would definitely do the trick. (Y/n) had a fascination for dolls so maybe mentioning their cargo would convince her.
"Dolls." Jade's voice came out nervously as she tried the last thing to attempt in convincing her friend to join. "We're transporting dolls...for a friend of Jesse's...I know you're into all that stuff" She waited with her breath practically caught in her throat.
(Y/n) stopped what she was doing, blinking slowly at the words just said by her friend. She had always held a sort of fascination with dolls. Maybe she was cleaning a little too much...
"Don't make me regret this." (Y/n) couldn't help but smile at her friend's sound of victory.
