~Katiana's POV~

"Mom, I don't want to do this," my younger self complains as she sits us in front of a fancy looking man. "They won't be childrens forever, Jocelyne," the man tells her. "For now, I don't want them to be part of our world," mom says firmly. The man makes some movements with his hands and takes away mine and Clary's memories.

I wake up gasping. A name pops in my mind. Magnus Bane. The second name I wrote without knowing. Shit, he's probably the guy who took our memories. I jump out of bed and get dressed quickly. I run out the room, trying to find someone I know. I go to the training room where I find Jace, training shirtless. I don't doubt my sister would be jealous that I was the one walking in on him like that.

"Jace!" I call out. He turns around and puts on a shirt before walking up to me.

"What's up?"

"I need to know what you know about Magnus Bane."

"Euh, he's the High Warlock of Brooklyn, why?"

"I believe he might be the one who's taken mine and Clary's memories," I state. He looks at me shock and doubt in his eyes.

"Why?"

"I had a dream where mom was telling him to take them because she didn't want us in this world yet. And I wrote his name once, without knowing who he was. Kinda like when Clary draw the runes."

"Magnus’ magic is so powerful, he can evade even the Silent Brothers. If he’s the warlock that took your memories… he could be the key to everything."

"Well that's not dramatic at all is it?" I sarcastically say.

"Jace, Kate, you two should come. The mundie's leaving," Isabelle informs us.

"What's the problem then? He'll probably be safer no?" I wonder, a frown on my face.

"Clary's going to try to stop him," Isabelle tells me.

"Of course she is." I roll my eyes and leave the room, Isabelle and Jace right behind me.

When we arrive, I hear Clary calling out to Simon, something about him not being a prisonner and the fact that he can't leave or something.

"I'm going home Clary. And if you haven't completely drunk their Kool-Aid, then you're coming with me," Simon told her, and I knew from his tone that no matter what my sister said, she wouldn't be able to convince him.

"You know I can't," she told him.

"Yes you can. It's- it's not safe here." Well, looks like they're both trying to convince each other.

"In fact, this is the safest place she could possibly be," said Jace, acting like a superior being.

"You don't get to talk to me Captain America," Simon tells him angrily. Wait he actually has a point, Blondie does act like Rogers.

"..., Come at me bro."

"Oh yeah?" answered Jace, an eyebrow raised.

"Okay boys, no need to jump at each others throat, this isn't going to solve anything," I intervene. "We don't want to cause another Civil War do we?" I ask Simon.

"What's your problem Simon?" my sister asks him. Rookie mistake. When someone is angry at someone and you got them to calm down slightly you don't ask what the problem is. You wait until the person is completely cooled off.

"He’s my problem! He’s just like Kirk Duplesse from high school. Do you remember him? Total jerk with the square jaw. Smelled like body spray, always bullying people," Simon told her. "Why don’t you do your own homework? Just once, yeah?" He told Jace. Clary put a hand on his arm, trying to calm him down and he turned to her. "I can take care of myself," he says before walking to the door.
