Chapter 13

~Katiana's POV~

Raj, Lydia and other Clave members walk to my room, where I immediately went after Meliorn snitched on us. This bitch.

"We need to search your room," Lydia states.

"Why?"

"We're searching the Cup."

"Oh, well go ahead I guess. It's useless, just saying. Wouldn't hide something so important in my room."

Raj walks to my drawer and opens it. I cringe slightly knowing it's my private shit there. He picks up a bra.

"Doubt that's what your searching for, dickhead," I tell him. He sends me a dirty look, but seeing I just glare right back, he puts down my bra and searches somewhere else.

"All clear."

"Told ya."

They walk to Clary's room and I decide to let Alec and Jace take care of it. I join Izzy and sit down next to her as she does something on a tablet.

"This is bad," she says and looks up to me.

"Tell me about it," I nob. "How important is family to Alec?" I ask her.  She looks at me in surprise.

"Well, I guess it's very important."

"You're mad at him, aren't you?" I guess and turn to look at her in the eyes. "About the engagement."

"I guess you could say I am," she admits after a pause. "He deserves better and is ruining his life."

"True," I agree and she looks shocked. "But I'm sure you know he's not doing this for himself. You, Max, your parents... You guys mean everything to him. As well as Jace of course. I know I haven't known him for a long time, but I truly believe he doesn't mean anything bad. And you know it too."

Before she can reply, guards pass by as they escort Meliorn. Izzy walks up to Lydia and Alec as I follow closely behind.

"Where are you taking him?"

"To a holding cell. And a guard unit will transport him to the Silent Brothers," Lydia informs.

"You can't do that!"

"It's not our decision, Isabelle. The Clave made the order," Alec replies and I feel weird hearing him call his sister that.

"That could be a death sentence to a Downworlder," Jace adds to support Izzy.

"Are you trying to start a war with them? Meliorn's told you everything he knows."

"You don't know that. Maybe we haven't asked the right questions," Lydia denies. "Seelies often skirt the truth. If he has information on another terrorist attack, it is our responsibility to get it."

"Let me talk to him."

"That wasn't exactly helpful in the past," Lydia retorts.

"But he may not know anything. Alec, this is going too far," Jace tries.

"We don't have a choice." Alec and Lydia walk away as I frown in worry.

"We can't let them kill Meliorn," I stress.

"Of course not!"

"Let's go see Magnus," Jace says.

"You guys do that and keep me updated, I'll see if we can get any other help."

"What kind of help?" Izzy asks.

"Any help."

I walk out of the Institute to my motorcycle and drive away. I have to get to Blake and Luke fast. I take a shortcut, taking a road the cops never watch. I pull up to Blake's apartment and stop the motor. I run up to her door and knock.
