"What are you babbling on about?!" Janua demanded.

"What are you MAKING me babble on about?" the assassin shot back. "There's no need to wait, just kill me already. But I can tell from that last stupid attack how you feel. You've never killed anybody, have you?"

He tensed up, and I looked over curiously. "Janua?"

"There's too much uncertainty in you, so it doesn't matter how strong you are. It doesn't matter how strong the gun is. What matters is if you have the guts to pull the trigger."

"Janua!" I shouted, but I was too late. He turned into a dragon, crushing him in his jaws. But then he let him go, so I ran over to check on him. "So I let him go deliberately, but..."

I wasn't listening. Dezember was on a cliff above us, staring down at me.

"It was quite a problem that so many of the 12 were missing. I didn't think I'd see you here, though." I glared back at him. "Ros? Are you trying to say you've given up your name? This could greatly alter the plan."

I grit my teeth in frustration. "This isn't good," I mumbled.

"Why are you here? No, you can't be here! If you've revived, then so should have the Demon King! Why have you awakened and he hasn't?" Dezember stopped. "I see, I understand. I'm relieved. You've revived, but your hero powers are still asleep, right? Hero Creasion!"

I guess the cat's out of the bag now.

"That's why your magical power is so small. You used your power for a second back there to dodge Juli-kun's attack. Which means it's not that you can't use it, it's that you're conserving it."

Can I punch this guy in the face?

"'Cause if you use it all, the Demon King's seal will break, right?" Dezember smirked.

"Maybe," I replied.

"It's worth trying! There's no other reason I can think of."

"What? Ros-san, you're the hero?" Mii-chan gasped. "You're a total sadist, but you're the legendary hero? If you're the legendary hero, use your power to defeat him!"

"That might cause my grandfather to revive," Ruki pointed out.

"So we can defeat them and seal him again!"

"That's impossible, cat!" Dezember put his hands in his pockets. "When magical power is too great, it will affect the world itself. The power of the hero could open a hole that goes through the earth itself!" His face darkened. "1,000 years ago, it was just the Demon King, but now we're here, too. Do you intend to defeat us while not destroying the world, and then seal the Demon King, too? This is becoming interesting. Juli-kun," he turned to the assassin, "you can kill the one with the three antennae."

Oh no he didn't. Nobody makes fun of my awesome hair.

"Really? You're sure?"

"Sure. If he dies without using the hero's power, we can go back to the original plan."

Die.

"Now what will you do?" Dezember snickered. "You can't beat Juli-kun with the magical power you have now. Die and buy some time until the Demon King revives, or use your power to protect your own life."

"Dammit." I grit my teeth, mumbling to myself. "Either way, I lose. But I can't die, I'm the one that said if you're in love with someone, live for them. I won't let you down, (Y/N)."

He gave me this weird look, then continued running his mouth. "Hmm, if you use your power, I'll let you live."

I didn't budge. Juli-kun's head turned into that dragon thing again, only for something to collide with it.

Alba and (Y/N).

"Seriously?! She seriously shot it?! That seriously hurt!"

"Don't act so surprised, Hero! Where are we?" As the dust cleared, I saw them both get to their feet.

"Hey, it's been a while," Alba smiled. (Y/N) smiled back, and I had to look away before I smiled, too.

"Who the hell are YOU?!" Juli roared, leaping into the air. "Don't get in my way!"

Samejima jumped between the two, looking over at us. "Thanks for the heal, slant eyes. I feel much better."

"My attack didn't hurt you at all?" That stupid assassin's jaw dropped. "What's with you? Do you have a protection spell cast on your clothes or something?!"

"I don't have anything like that, but I carry something stronger than any armor on my back."

"Oh no! That makes perfect sense!"

"Then what is it?!" (Y/N) demanded.

"No it doesn't!" Alba added.

"He's right, it doesn't make any sense!" Samejima collapsed to the ground, sobbing to himself.

"Hero! (Y/N)!" I finally cried.

"It took you too long!" he whined.

"I'm sorry, but your outfit was different than usual, so I couldn't tell. Same with you, (Y/N)." It's fun messing with people.

"THIS IS HOW WE ALWAYS DRESS!" they shouted. "YOU'RE THE ONES WHO ARE DRESSED WEIRD!" A bag fell next to them.

"Oh hey, that's your clothes and armor. It must've been shot with us. Anyways, what's going on?"

"Good question." (Y/N) looked at me. "What IS going on? And what's with that weird guy with the scary aura?"

"Dammit, you ruined the fun mood!" Dezember snapped. "I was planning on having some more fun, but now-"

And then he was hit by a bike driven by Ares. Badass.
