TW: I'm not spoiling it but I'm warning you

And that was what was on her mind as she trudged through the forest looking for the source of the chanting. There was utter silence between her and Anya, and the full moon was high above them. The sound of crickets and the increasingly loud noise of the chanting filled the air. They could hear what the chanters were saying, but they couldn't see them.

'Keep us shielded from the Time,

Hide us from it's reach,

Keep our loved ones alive,

By the power of our speech'

They chanted.

'Take and dim this feeble candle,

Use it's flame and wax,

Their lives, now entangled,

Don't remind them of the past'

Over and over, the chanting filled her ears.

"I wish they would just-" Anya stuck out her arm, cutting off Elianna's speech and stopping her from walking farther, "What-"

"Hush. Look over there, a bonfire,"

Elianna had no idea how she hadn't noticed before. Smoke rose above the trees, not too far in front of them, and an orange glow came from there.

They hid in a bush, slightly closer, close enough to see figures cloaked in red, five of them, circling a fire.

"Is that a-" Anya glared at Elianna, stopping her. There was a figure in the flames, tied to a wooden beam. Whoever it was was either dead or remaining silent.

"Person," Anya mouthed, horrified.

"We have to go," She mouthed back.

Anya nodded, and they slowly crawled out of the bushes.

"What do we do?" Elianna asked herself.

"Intruders!" Gasped one of the cloaked figures, pointing at them.

Gina's pov

Orange and Gina set down Crystal in the hospital bed. A doctor came by and examined her, while Gina and Orange sat outside. The doctor came out.

"She's fine, she just fainted,"

"Fainted?" That made no sense...

"We'll keep her overnight, you guys can leave,"
