Chloe's POV
"It was just... It was just SO amazing! It was like I was dreaming, but at the same time I was more alive than I have ever felt before!" I swoon. I'm explaining my kiss with Josh to Paige. She's the only one who knows about it. "I can't describe it." I continue.
"Magical?" offers Paige.
"That's it!" I clap excitedly. "But we can't be together, because he chose Maddie."
Paige bites her lip. "You're hiding something!" I protest.
Paige explodes, "He hasn't slept since Friday night! I can here him pacing through the wall! He's been living off of bacon and Oreos since you kissed! He wanted to skip hockey!" She spills.
My jaw drops.
Josh usually has a huge appetite, and he lives for hockey. "All about me?" I stutter.
"And about which girl to choose," adds Paige, the voice of reason.
I'm awestruck. I wasn't sure if he felt the same way. But now that I know he does, it's like I'm on cloud nine.
I text Josh,
'Want to come over tonight? I can help you study for that biology test tomorrow.' I tap Send.
I'm not really interested in bio. I'm interested in time with Josh.He responds back,
'Sure ;) See you then'
I don't know when 'then' is, but I want to be ready, so Paige heads home and I tell my mom Josh will be here for dinner tonight.
"Okay hon', I'll tell Dad to make extra." says my mother, unloading the dishwasher.
The doorbell rings. He's here! "And can you please tell Clara not to make fun of him, he's had a rough few days." I add, rushing to the front door.
I take a deep breath and try to settle down the butterflies in my stomach.
