Hyerin's POV
I walked around my grandfather as he checked the file. He stopped making me stop and sighed looking at my pouted face. "What do I need to do Hyerin?" He knew I needed something. I gave him a small smile and sat down on the couch by his side as he curiously looked at me. "It's your 70th birthday soon." I started nervously as the old man chuckled.
"And?" He knew that wasn't all. It was his birthday but I wanted something from him. Not really but I had a request. "Could you invite-" but the old man knew what I was gonna say and finished my sentence. "Sunghoon's family?" I bit my lips, a bit embarrased as he already knew it and slightly nodded.
Sunghoon wouldn't talk to me. He wouldn't even come near me and always pushed me so I needed a different method to get close to him once again. So grandpa's huge birthday event would be my perfect chance. "Don't worry, Mr. Yang already invited them." He patted my head as I gave him a wider smile appreciating his presence.

"Do you think he'll come tho? Even if he does, how are you gonna talk to him?" Heeseung said out licking the whipped cream I just prepared as I stirred the cake batter and sighed. "I hope he comes. And if he does, I'll find a way to talk to him alone." Kinda discouraged about it, I worriedly kept myself away from overthinking as my other cousin and Jungwon entered the kitchen.
"Mrs. Lee is calling you Hyerin." He informed me as I nodded and took off my gloves leaving the three boys alone. "Yes mom-" I stopped when I saw Ryun in mom's room instead of the birth giver. Tilting my head, I found her excitedly waving at me. "I found you a dress to wear tonight." She said as I backed away.
"Uhh no I'm fine with my jeans and hoodie Ryun." She scoffed in a sassy manner and pulled me inside. "Here you go." Handing a pretty black dress she proudly smiled. "You do know grandpa's birthdays are celebrated in the most grand way." She pointed out as I gave up and nodded taking the dress. "Fine."

Sunghoon's POV
"Dad I already told you I'm not gonna go!" I slammed the door shut and angrily sat on my bed as the older guy knocked. "Hoon listen Mr. Lee invited us himself. We all have to go." He said out as I scoffed hearing it. Probably Hyerin forced him to invite us. She wouldn't leave me alone. "Park Sunghoon you're getting ready right now. The suit's on your desk." He finalized it as I sighed staring at the perfectly new suit.
With a cold face, I followed my family inside the Lee mansion aka Hyerin's grandfather's house. "You came Mr. Park." The old man happily greeted as we bowed. I looked at the venue but didn't see the girl. Yet. Me and my sister decided to just sit at a corner as my dad met his other business partners in the party. It looked less like a birthday event, more like a business party.
"Hey Hoon." Heeseung approached me as I quickly avoided his gaze. The guy sighed knowing I wouldn't talk to him and gave up on wasting his time as he went to the other direction. "There she is." Sunyoung noona said out as I looked up at the stairs and saw Lee Hyerin walking down trying to stay stable on her high heels. I stared at her for a whole minute as I appreciated the girl's beauty but quickly looked away when she met my eyes. "Sunghoon.." She said hesitant to approach me as I drank the soda and looked at my phone.
The girl was about to approach me but got hindered by her mom calling her as she pouted and followed the older woman.
Hyerin's POV
"You should go talk to your no longer boyfriend instead of you know putting frosting on the cupcakes?" Ryun high-key judged me as I kept the cupcakes away and nodded. But I had no idea how to approach him. "I would if I could." The girl rolled her eyes getting off the counter and approached me. "Sis you're lucky you have me." She said out standing on her toes and patted my shoulder confusing me.
"You mean us right?" Heeseung entered the room as the once empty room was now complete. But it perplexed me even more. "We'll help you talk to Sunghoon." Heeseung said out as I widened my eyes. "Wait what?" They sighed and looked at each other. "Just go to your room. Wait in the guest room, we'll send him up there."

Sunghoon's POV
I randomly walked around greeting the people there and sighed hoping to get home as soon as possible. Getting a call from Jake, I looked at my phone to pick it when I felt getting pushed by someone and my glass of soda fell all over my suit. "Oh no I'm so sorry." Looking up at the culprit I saw Lee Ryun who apologetically bowed as I glared at her for a while.
"Ryun what did you do oof? Sunghoon you can go to the room upstairs. Clean up." Heeseung hyung suggested as I didn't bother to thank him and straightaway went upstairs. Frustratedly walking I entered the room and then went to the washroom, cleaning my white shirt. "Need a towel?" The voice said out as I saw Hyerin standing by the door biting her lips nervously.
I scoffed realizing how the Lee siblings tricked me into this and harshly grabbed the towel from the girl's hand wiping the wet shirt. "How long will you be mad at me Sunghoon?" Hyerin sighed as I kept quiet still avoiding her. Cleaning up, I walked out of the washroom. "Sunghoon stop avoiding me." She said out holding my hand as I pushed it away and glared at her.
"I can do whatever I want to." Coldly saying I was about to leave when the girl stood in front of the door preventing me from getting out. "Move." She didn't reply. "Sunghoon you can't just push me away all the time." I clicked my tongue looking away and then back at her. "I have every right to stay away from the girl whose father killed my mother."
Saying out those cruel words, I noticed the girl gasp as she lightly widened her eyes which were full of sadness. "Why Sunghoon? I thought you loved me? How could you say that so easily?" Her voice weakened as I tried my best to control myself and didn't say anything else. I was getting annoyed at the moment and wanted to get outta the place. "Sunghoon you need to understand it was an accident-"
"I don't care I lost my mother because of that." I was about to push the girl away but she wouldn't let me leave and looked straight at my cruel eyes. "Please.." A tear fell of her eye as I ran my hand through my hair. "Can you please move? I don't want to talk to a murderer's daughter-"
I immediately regretted saying that as I felt a sharp pain on my left cheeks. Hyerin's hand went right past my cheek slapping it as I widened my eyes slightly holding the stingy area. The girl sadly yet angrily looked at me as I bit the inside of my tongue and pushed her away leaving the room.
Hyerin's POV
I fell on the floor after Sunghoon left the place. I couldn't control myself when he referred my dad as a murderer. I just couldn't. And I slapped him. I raised my hand at him for the first time. And I didn't know if I should be guilty about that. I silently looked at my red hand letting the tears fall off my red eyes as I felt Ryun hugging me from back.
"Shhh don't cry. We saw everything. Sunghoon shouldn't have said that." She hugged me tighter as Heeseung stared at his cousin not being able to do anything. The two saw and heard everything. "I shouldn't have slapped him." I trembled blaming myself as the other two tried comforting me. But it was off no use.
"You shouldn't have but he shouldn't have called uncle a murderer as well." Heeseung angrily said out as I closed my eyes feeling more than painful.
