Chapter 7: Bank Robbers

Bucky and I ran around the corner and Bucky pulled open his backpack. He tossed me my suit and we changed quickly. (Photo Above)  I flew up into the air and Bucky climbed up the side of the building's fire escape. Once he was on the roof he held his metal arm up in the air and I flew past and grabbed his hand, lifting him up into the air. I dropped him onto the roof and he made his way into the building through the door on the roof. I dropped down to the back entrance and took down the two guarding the door.

I moved through the building taking down the gun men and tying them up with my vines. I eventually met back up with Bucky just before we got to the gun men that were holding the hostages. "I'll take the ones on the right; you take the left" I instructed. I took them down quickly and tied them down. Bucky knocked them all out and I assisted him in restraining them. We helped the hostages leave, when, all of a sudden, a tall man with a long black coat appeared. He picked up his gun and opened fire over us. I threw my forearm across my face and a shield of vines covered me and spread to Bucky. That was, however, not in time to protect him completely. He took two shots, one to the leg and one to the arm. I covered him with vines and threw the fire balls towards the tall man. I then pulled the vines threw the ground and wrapped them around him tightly, squeezing him tighter every second. "Buck are you ok?" I shouted towards him. "Yeah I'm good" He replied holding his wounds. I turned back to the gun man and knocked him out with a wave of pressured air.

I ran over to Bucky and picked him up and swung his uninjured arm around my shoulders, helping him walk out. I lead him to a side street where I spoke to Sam and Peter of the comms, "Wilson, Parker? Can you bring the Quinjet around? I need to get Bucky medical, he's been shot twice".

"Copy that Y/L/N" Sam said into the comms. "Peter, I need you to set up my medical equipment, Bucky will need immediate aid" I ordered.

*Skip to the Quinjet*

I stitched up Bucky's arm and leg after removing the bullets. He looked incredibly sad, but also disappointed. "It wasn't your fault" I said to him, like I was reading his mind. "I'm sorry Y/N. I didn't mean to let you down." Bucky spoke looking me in the eye. I could tell he was disappointed in himself; he spoke to me and looked me in the eye. A very rare occurrence. "You didn't let me down Buck. It was my fault; I didn't get the vines to reach you in time and I didn't check the surroundings." I admitted to him. "We both made mistakes, and that's ok. We didn't have a brief and we had no information during it. No civilians got hurt and there was minimal damage. We did good considering" I said to him honestly. His eyes changed from the look of guilt to acceptance. I moved the hair from his face and gave him a smile, before sitting down next to him.

"Director Fury had just requested us to come back to the base. He said he's got a new mission and everyone is needed." Sam spoke to us as he flew the Quinjet back to the Avengers Facility.

*Time skip to the briefing*

Me and Sam helped Bucky into the briefing room, Steve stood up and exclaimed, "What the hell happened?" he walked over to us and Bucky smirked, "It's alright, just two bullet wounds. I'll be fine by tomorrow".

"Um no you won't" I commented, "You may be a super soldier, but you still need time to heal. You can be back on active duty in 5 days, considering your healing time." I ordered. I sat down next to Bucky and lightly tapped his shoulder in pity.

After the meeting, we all went to the mission, all except Bucky. On the way back from the mission, Steve sat next to me and spoke in a hushed voice, "You know, I think Buck is really beginning to open up to you. He looks like he really trusts you." I smiled at him, "Really, I'm glad" I stated. Steve nodded approvingly.
