Kyoya may have increased his magic power, but now that God Serena knows that the attribute he wields with his Dragon Slayer Magic is fire, he knew exactly how to counter it.

God Serena gathers a wave mass of water and releases it as a spiraling torrent from the palm of his hand. As the attack was heading towards Kyoya, the boy only had one thought.
"I've only mastered this magic at half of it's strength while training with the Witch of Greed, so I can't exactly hold myself back properly now that I have it's full strength. Especially since I don't have those bandages restraining it."

Kyoya produces a searing hot flame in his mouth before spewing it out in the direction of God Serena's spell. The unleashed flames engulf a large-scale area and, with their incredible heat, can not only scorch the earth beneath it but utterly vaporize it, leaving a U-shaped valley in its wake as it also caused God Serena's spell to evaporate before the spells could make contact.
