Chapter 9

It was about 6pm now and Keigo had just texted me to check in on how I was doing. Of course I was fine so I went to sit out on the balcony after getting bored for a while. I pulled out a chair from the table and looked out over the city. Way in the distance, I could see Keigo's agency building. I lookd at my phone and noticed more messages.

DEKU:

Akai how has it been going? I know you're the only one with hawks are you alright?

AKAI:
Yea i'm fine lol.

how has it been for you so far whaats going on?

DEKU:

It's been alright, We just went on patrol today nothing major, did you see kachan got  anew haircut?

AKAI:
Oh he did? what is it?

DEKU:

It's an under shave it looks really good!

AKAI:
LMAO no way really?
Maybe I should get a new look yk?

DEKU:

Whatever you wanna do, i think you're pretty just how you are but you'd look sick with black hair, chestnut is cool too but try that!

AKAI:
YK I will, thanks deku ttyl!

I checked insta and saw he did and he became very popular, not that i wasn't either, I dont understand how I was so popular with 4.2 mil people especially guys, but he doubled from 3mil to 6 mil, with just a hair cut change. "I wonder if people will like me more if i did that too. I could use a costume change i've had this for quite some time and it's just random clothing peices nothing special. No signature clothing iteem like deku or bakugou. even hawks has his jacket. I'll ask about getting a new uniform. but I think deku is right i probably would look cool with black hair. Popularity is wack I swear". With that I stopped texting him got up grabbed a hoodie and locked the balcony door. I grabbed my walet and walked down the steps, Keigo's feather wrapped on a string around my neck i tucked it into the sweatshirt.

Tonight is really quiet, as someone who enjoys silence thee fact that i am unnerved by this is worrying. "It's a city where is everyone it's only 6:30? Oh well the store is right here im fine, its fine, we're fine" I walked in and smilled at the cashier. I walked over to the hair dye area and saw there were many colors. I looked and I found the darkest black they had. "this should be alright? I'll get 2 boxes just incase" I turned around and bumpped into someone, a blond girl as tall as me and probably the same age. She had pigtails and about armpit length hair. Her hood was up and she was holding a diet cola.

"Oh sorry, I didnt see you there" I smilled as she did too. "Oh no problem! it's a smile isle dont worry!" She had a high voice, and was very airy too. she sounded very excentric but seemed nice. I smiled and walked off. When I turned my back I didnt notice how she was analyzing me. I payed for that along with a pockey box and left.

The city just as quiet as before, exsempt from the fact that there were now the feeling of being watched. I hurried by using my quirk to change the lower half of my body so I could run faster. I bolted through the streets back to the main one where I could have sworn there were shadows above me struggling to keep up.

I changed back and tried to blend in with the little crowds that were there. As I was there were some people that seemed out of place, they were going in the direction i was and I wasnt having it. I jumped into a side road that will take me to the place faster when the girl from earlier stopped me. I gaspped and stumbled back. Her giggle maaking hairs stand on end. "You dropped your phone back there by the way, sorry for scaring you" Getting a better look at her I realized who she was but played it off.

I smilled and grabbed it, "oh thank you I had no idea! Thats so kind of you!" I took the phone and turned, as there were men standing behined me. "Nope nope nope not having it" I graspped my chest frantically and accidently broke the feather. They didn't know but I was just trying to reflect the attack of the knife Toga had shoved my way. The other two men, Dabi and twice  had grabbed ahold of me as i dropped what I was carrying to fight back. I had kicked toga in the face and knocked her back as I was flailing.

I activated Beast Form 2, Fire Cheeta, I know i'm not supposed to without Keigo's supervision but panic took over as I shifted and molded into the new form. I became taller, leaner, and fuzzy. (No not a furry). I felt my head heat up as my hearing and sight got better. I could hear keigo coming up to where we were, he was less than a mile away. I grabbed twice by the face and threw him off me. Dabi tried to punch my face but i leaned my head down and he fractured his knuckles on the two tiney horns that portruded from the top of my skull. I kicked him off, quickly pulled up my hood grabbed my things and rand FAST away from the sceen.

Keigo was gaining on me as I decided to jump and climb up the building. It was no effort since the speed of a 90MPH run and a jump about 2/3 stories I made it to the top of the sky scraper in about 2 minutess. Once on the balcony I colapsed, the singed and ripped clothing from using my quirk sagged around my boddy. I leaned against the wall breathing deeply, closing my eyes. Keigo landed on the balcony and rushed over to me.

He seemed pale, "Kid what the hell happened!? You aren't supposed to use your quirk! why were you out! I said break the feather not shater it! It still hurts when you do!" I glared at him as he hushed up. I sat myself up better with the help of him as he kneeled next to me, holding my back softly and rubbing circles as I kept catching my breath. "hey kid are you okay youre breathing pretty hard?" I lifted my head up for him to see i was tearing up. "o-oh panic attack okay" He sat down fully and wrapped his arms around me as i started to sniffle.

I hid inside his arms as I glared at the floor. "Im sorry this is really stupid i shouldnt be crying I was fine" He looked at me like i was crazy, "what do you mean even if you were fine you were probably still scared it's okay to be scared? I get scared sometimes too" I sighed and shimmied away from Keigo  as he frowned. "Sorry about your feather, I had a confrontation, and i didnt know what to do. I was going to handle it on my own but i accedently broke your feather when one tried to stab me and i guess more when they tackled me".

He blinked, "yea i think thats a pretty good reason to be scared, do you know who it was?" I nodded as he scooted closer again, "who was it Akai? Its okay" I looked away, "It was the LOV, They were following me and they aattacked me about half a mile from here. Sorry i took off and ran, I didnt mean to cut your work short, I was just trying to buy some hair dye" He laughed, "Hair dye for what?" I frowned.

I looked at him then away again, "well deku texted me and said bakugou got a new hair cut, and i saw it on insta, he became much more popular, so I was thinking if i changed my style too people would like me more also" He frowned and hugged me tight, pulling me flush against him. "U-uh keigo is s-something wrong?" He shook his head aand just stayed there. I wrapped my arms around him tensly but after a few seconds melted into it and started patting his head. "YOu dont need to change who you are for people to like you, I think youre perfect" When he said that my face heated up like gasoline to a match.

"Thanks, keigo" he let go and we went inside. Before I went inside, I looked back out over the city, scared still about what happened. "Akai c'mere!" I turned and locked the glass door behined me. he held the bag up and smiled, "we're gonna dye your hair together to make you happy! no one else okay!" Myy heart raced at the thought and i felt like crying on the inside but i knew no tears wwould come. I nodded as he helped me out and shared a bunch of laughs.
