"get down from the tree y/n, you're going to fall," kento stood at the bottom of the tree as he watched you carelessly sit on top of a branch.
"don't be a buzz kill, i can take care of myself just fine," you announced proudly as you watched the view in front of you.
he shook his head as he eyed his watch carefully, patiently waiting for you to come down away from harms way.
the breeze blew across your face as you smiled, a small laugh escaping your lips at the feeling.
that was until you heard a small snap, the branch collapsing from underneath you.
"time to k.o i guess," you sighed as you fell freely before a pair of arms caught you, well kind of.
both of you fell backwards with you on top of him, a fit of laughter coming from you as he stared at you in disbelief.
how could you be laughing when you could've gotten seriously hurt?
though that was one of his favorite qualities of you, being carefree.

"i picked up your favorite for dinner if that's ok, you've been more busy recently and i wanted to treat you," you placed the food on his desk.
kento lifted his head up from his work to eye the food and then glance over to you, humming in acknowledgement before going back to his work.
usually this wasn't the greatest idea depending on his mood but you decided on it anyway, carefully taking his pen out of his hand which earned you look.
"you've been working nonstop for hours nami, give yourself a break to at least eat something yeah?"
he knew you were right, paperwork has been passed onto him more than usual.
he could've given some of the paperwork to gojo or even yourself to help, deciding not to though and take the full burden on himself.
usually he made dinner knowing you preferred his cooking but you decided on treating him today, giving him a break.
he let out a small scoff before placing his hands onto your waist, pulling you into his lap as he settled his chin onto your shoulder.
"if i'm eating then you're going to stay here with me."

"are you feeling any better?" kento leaned against your door frame as you stayed seated on your bed, your covers wrapped around you fully.
no response was given besides a small shrug and grunt, slumping further into your bed as you watched your film.
nanami made his way to your side as the bed dipped by his weight, lightly pushing your head onto his chest, "it's that bad?"
your arms snaked around his waist as you took in his faint smell of cologne, continuing to stay quiet before you let out a string of coughs.
he cringed at the sudden action but continued to stay there by your side, rubbing your back comfortingly.
"would you like some tea? maybe soup to help?"
you quickly shook your head as you buried your face further into his chest, keeping a strong yet weak grip around him.
"please stay," you mumbled against his chest before lifting your head up a little to meet his gaze.
a small smile made its way to his lips as he cherished your cheek, "i'll always stay by your side."

"i still can't believe i got married to the kento nanami," you smiled at your newly wedded husband that stood over your form that sat on the warm sand.
"it's nothing hard to believe you know," he carefully sat down beside you before looking over at you.
he took in your appearance just like the first day he met you, falling in love with you all over again like a broken record, every day.
"is there something on my face? you're staring," you asked smugly which was replied with kento clicking his tongue while his cheeks flushed.
"can i not admire you?" he questioned as he turned his gaze onto the water, watching the waves crash onto the shore only a few feet away.
"you're more than welcome to admire me just as long as i can admire you kento. do you happen to remember your very first promise to me?" cupping some sand into your hands before watching it fall through your fingers.
"of course i do. i promised i'd always stay by your side and protect you no matter what," he took your hand into his own as he squeezed it lightly, "i still plan to keep it."
you turned to properly face him, pressing your lips against his softly as the sun reflected both your rings, pulling away to press your forehead against his, "i trust you."

that's what should've happened at least.
here you were, laying lifelessly on your hospital bed as kento sat by your side, screaming your name as he begged you to wake back up.
he promised you he would keep you safe, so why were you not moving instead of smiling at him?
why were you wearing a hospital gown that covered the wounds you've received instead of your planned out wedding attire?
time was something he was always so good at.
if only he gotten to you in time before mahito did...
all kento nanami could hear was the flatline on the monitor and his own choked sobs he tried his hardest to keep in, holding your body close to his chest.
the ring he had planned to propose to you with laid perfectly on your ring finger.
"i need you to come back y/n....
i miss you."
