Chapter 6 : Traces of Truth

The white double door opened to a noble's room, white themed room with golden lining and red velvet on the cushion and bed, Lady Hana gracefully sat on her sofa with some paper on her hand.

"Lady Hana, the guest has arrived and both of them are currently waiting for you and Mr. Andrew"

"Ahh it is almost midnight indeed, well inform Mr. Andrew, and I will be there in 15 minutes, ohh I almost forgot, prepare the prisoners."

"as you wish my lady" the maid bowed down and exited the room

"Calm down Aira, we will end this once and for all", said Laura in an effort to comfort Aira and snap her out of terror, and not long after their arrival, Andrew came to the guest room and met them.

"Are you two okay?, did she use any physical force to the both of you?" asked Andrew in an instant

Laura stood up and said " not physically Andrew, and of course both of us are not okay, look at where we are"

Andrew didn't say a word but from his eyes there was a slight expression of regret, it could either be from what he said, or what he did, but the tense situation doesn't stop there, Lady Hana arrived to the guest room, accompanied by 12 servants and also a man in chains, handcuffed tightly.

"Laura, and Aira, I thank you for coming in such a short notice, however I believe that there is a major misunderstanding that happens to be under my name." Lady Hana gave the persona of elegance, and her choice of words are threaded carefully to persuade them. She continued " in regards to the accident of your house miss Aira, what happened was something unexpected even for me, my intention was never to hurt anyone and it applies to Laura as well, as you know that she was left unharmed but the method of a certain group was out of my control, I expected them to gave Laura a fake shipment containing the letter, however that certain group decided to doubt the information I gave them, their main intention was to hunt down problematic political figures and I gave them the location they needed and in return I asked for them to give a message to you Laura in the condition of no harm were to come to you, however the police found out one of their attempt to abduct these political figures and so their team panicked and decided to abduct you as well."

Laura spoke her mind out and said "so that is why the police investigated me, they thought I have a certain connection with some political figures"

Lady Hana nodded and continued " Indeed Laura because the rest of the people that was abducted with you was as I said, problematic political figures, and the one smart figure who decided to abduct you with the rest of the problematic political figure, is this gentleman in chains"

The servants opened the chain in his mouth and he nodded, he then said "yes it was me... I was the one who ordered my group to abduct you to speed up the process"

Laura's calm and composure broke down instantly "HOW can I know that this gentleman is not forced to say that by none other than you?"

Upon hearing that, Lady Hana slightly tilted her head and smiled, "well I did force him to say it, but I only forced him to say the truth, play the audio clip!"

One of the servant brought a speaker and a tape, the tape is a full conversation of 3 gentleman in a mission to give a letter to Laura and then abduct one of the political figure that happens to be just around the area, and indeed it was truth that Lady Hana spoke earlier, " you can have a full 7 hour of the whole operation recording, but I don't think you need it, Laura in order to clear my name I give you a power, a power to command this man's fate, it is now on your hands, you can decide whatever happens next to him, even death..."

Laura ignored her and said "enough about me, is that the only thing that you want to clear ?, are you going to say the same thing to what happened to Aira? That a certain group is responsible for what happened and you are entirely innocent?"

Lady Hana maintains her composure and answered," well miss Laura, the case of miss Aira is more complicated than yours, in fact extremely complicated, from what we know, an explosion happened inside the building that burned down the house entirely within minutes, a simple gas leak explosion won't have the power to burn down the entire house, the explosion happened after the store closed, when one of my agent is supposed to arrive to deliver you a letter, my agent, disguised as a neighbor was about to visit your house to "get to know each other" with the hidden intention of sneaking a letter into your room Aira, and that letter survived the explosion" she stopped her explanation and gave Aira a partially burned letter, the edges obviously turned to ash, however the content of the letter is still readable.

Aira read the letter and stared at Lady Hana in silence, Lady Hana continued "Aira my intention was to hire you to gather the daily information of Mr Andrew, since he is already aware of the methods I use to watch him, i never intended to hurt you or your family"

Laura stepped toward towards Lady Hana, but after 2 steps, she hold herself back and stopped, "Then explain to us, how is there an explosion just before your agent came in?, all you say to us right now, its only words of someone we can't trust and a gentleman in chains".

Lady Hana closed her eyes and bowed slightly, "That is something under investigation, the only proof I would have that it was not my doing is my agent, he survived the explosion however, he cannot leave the hospital just yet."

Aira finally spoke a word, and she said "say Lady Hana, the police investigation said that the explosion is enough to kill everyone inside but not enough to destroy the entire building correct?"

Lady Hana nodded and answered, "Indeed, it seems that you have figured out my innocence"

Both Laura and Andrew were confused.

Something significant that both of them are unaware about, and the uncertainty that Aira ignored.

" wait what ?, what do you mean ?" asked Laura

Aira looked at Laura intently and said "Celyn, on the day of the explosion, Celyn was inside her room the entire time...."

Then... how could she survived the explosion??
