"Good morning Charlie." You greeted your secretary as you entered the reception of your veterinary clinic.

"Good morning boss." She greeted you back as she opened her work laptop.

"Oh, you didn't have to bother with that." She said, as you set a cup of coffee on the table next to her.

"Stop being silly, it's no bother, I know you can't start your day without coffee either." You replied, before taking a sip of yours.

"Thanks." She thanked you. You smiled at her and gave her a nod before heading to your office.

After finishing veterinary school, saving up a good amount of money and with a little help from your father, you had saved enough to buy a modest property and open your own clinic.

You chose to move to the small, sleepy town of South Park, seeking to get rid of the stress of living in the big city.

In a short time you've got several customers who bring several different types of pets for you to examine.

You loved your job and you loved animals, you even took the time to care for injured strays. They would always return to your clinic to visit you and eat a bowl of food you offered.

As you were checking that everything was in place, your phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Boss, there's someone here at reception wanting to talk to you." Charlie said.

You were confused by what she said, but anyway, you asked her to let whoever was coming in.

You patiently waited, until a man walked through the door with a round aquarium and four fish in it. You couldn't help but be enchanted as soon as you laid eyes on him, he was a very handsome red-haired man.

To tell you the truth, you've never seen a more handsome man before.

"Excuse me, you're the vet, right?"

You remained silent to his question, stunned by the feelings that swept over you.

"Hello? Are you the vet?" He asked again, louder this time, imagining you hadn't heard.

Realizing that you were staring at him like an idiot, you felt an overwhelming urge to go outside and bury your head in the dirt. But you answered.

"It's me, a thousand apologies."

"It's all right." He assured you and smiled.

"So? What would you like to talk to me about?" You asked.

"I heard that you examine all kinds of animals, so I came to know if you also examine fish." He explained.

"But of course." You answered. "A self-respecting veterinarian doesn't just take care of dogs and cats, right?"

"Oh how nice!" He said relieved. "My kids love these little fish, I don't know what they would do if they died."

You were immediately in shock the moment he revealed he had kids. All of her plans to approach him and ask him out were suddenly destroyed.

However, you weren't surprised that a handsome man like him had a wife and children.

You weren't used to being attracted to older men, but there seemed to be something different about him.

Even so, you were professional and took care of the little animals. You examined them, asked about their symptoms, gave the diagnosis, and prescribed medicine to treat the fungus in their mouths.

He didn't get tired of thanking you and reached out to shake your hand. Your eyes met briefly as you shook hands, but he quickly acted as if nothing had happened and walked away.
