Me and Rowley were at the videogame store today when Rowley saw the GameVirtual 3000 on sale. It was this VR headset he wanted ever since it came out. Trouble was, he could not afford it. All the rich kids had it and so he wanted to own one. We went inside the store and saw the last one. Apparently it was the last one in the town that was purchasable. I told Rowley we could get it from EBay or Amazon but he ignored me and took it. I asked him what he was doing and he told me to stop talking. Then he ran out of the store with it. Alarms started blaring and I saw hi m leave the store and run away as two mall cops chased him down. I was shocked at what I saw. Rowley would never do something as stupid as that. I felt a hand on my shoulder and my mom was there. She did not speak and we both went into the car and sat silently as Mom drove. She told me Rowley would be ok and he was not in any sort of danger. Not for the first time, I did not trust Mom on that.
Me and Rodrick were fighting over Rowley Jefferson. He told me I was an idiot thinking Rowley was always a good kid. I told him Rowley changed and I had to fix it.
