"Don't touch me right now Eddward." Kevin warned, his eyes darkening.
It was then that Double D noticed that Kevin was being careful not to let any part of his body get too close to his. "Kevin, I understand that your temper is making your body run a litte-"the bat tightened against his throat, forcing him to stop talking for the moment.
"You. Don't. Understand. Any. Thing." Kevin spoke through gritted teeth as he took a halfstep closer so he had better leverage. It also made him marginally closwer to the raven haired boy.
Double D couldn't help the shuddering breath that he released as some part of his mind started to register the heat that was coming from the red head. Curse my teenage hormones. he silently growled at himself as he tried to gether his thoughts. Logic apparently wasn't going to help him at this point so he only had one other option. Force. Please let me have enough strength for this. he pleaded as he slowly reached up to wrap his hands around the bat, a few inches away from Kevin's. He pushed against it a little so it was easier for him to breath.
"Kevin, just relax. You are going to make your blood pressure rise higher then it should." he tried again, knowing it wouldn't work but maybe work as a distraction so he didn't have to use as much force as he was sure he was going to. He knew this wasn't the Kevin he had leanred to almost like now, the Kevin that had a little sister who he worried about constantly or who had become a kind of protector for some of the others in the Cul-de-Sac. No, this was the Kevin he had grown up with, the Kevin who let his anger out in the most unhealthy of ways. I told you he hadn't changed. Double D's mind taunted. Silence. he told the small voice. He didn't need that reminder at this point.
"Fuck my blood pressure. You don't get it dork. I can't touch you right now." the red head almost spat, his teeth grinding together. He looked like he was fighting something but DOuble D couldn't quite figure out what it was. Was he this upset about what had happened at the Yard? His eyes must have conveyed some part of his feelings because Kevin pushed back against the bat, gaining back the small distance Double D had made. "Don't look at me like that. You don't get to look at me like I'm some kicked puppy."
There was a falter in his grip that Double D took advantage of even as his mind tried to work out the entire situation. He pushed back against the bat, twisting his wrist as his other hand let go of the bat. There was enough grip in his hand that the force he used wrtched the bat from Kevin's hands, making the red head's balance falt. He caught himself with his hands on either side of Double D's shoulders, closing he distance between them until it was only millimeters. Both boy's seemed to freeze as they realized what happened.
So this isn't that long either but I figured it was just enough of a cliff hanger to drive you guys crazy :) There is a bit before this that I am planning although this will most likely be near the end of the chapter. i have a couple days this week so it shouldn't take as long as I thought it would for me to get everything siutated with my diploma. Which means I will be able to actually get the chapter for this done later in the week or early next.
Once again, thank you all for the support now not only in this story but also the kind words you gave me after the last update.
