Hi-Bounce Ball and Amethyst

There was chaos in Bierce's Ballroom. Malak had managed to get inside the pocket dimension, and had summoned a portal to different dimension, and was struggling to push Bierce inside. But she was much stronger than she looked. The pair grappled, Malak slowly pushing Bierce towards the portal's edge. "It's over Bierce, you might as well give up!" He hissed. With one strong shove, he pushed into the portal. Bierce smirked, reaching out and grabbing his wrist, pulling him into the portal as well. "That's what you think!" With that they tumbled, falling into the strange world.  As they fell, Bierce pushed Malak away from her. Malak his the ground first, his head striking a rock. Bierce hit the ground with a heavy thud. As she drifted towards unconsciousness, she heard footsteps, and then nothing.

Malak's POV

"ALRIGHT CONTESTANTS! WE HAVE TWO NEW OBJECTS JOINING US TODAY!"  I jolted awake as a loud, shrill voice pierced my ears. I opened my eyes, only to close them again as the bright sunlight and colors hurt them. I heard voices, a lot of them, speaking in excited whispers. I opened my eyes a second time, and gasped. I was surrounded by sentient household objects. One of them, an ice cube, gave me a smile. "HI-BOUNCE BALL," I yelped as a hand grabbed me. "YOU'LL BE JOINING TEAM 8-NAMES." The hand dropped me in a small group of objects, eight in all. They all started talking at once, asking me different questions. One of them, a purple lollipop, held out a hand. "Hello, there Hi-Bounce Ball. I'm Lollipop." I shook it. "You look a bit confused," She snickered, probably at my dumbstruck expression. "Here, take a look." Lollipop handed me a small, handheld mirror. I took it, and looked at myself. I was, as my name suggested, a Hi-Bounce Ball. A red one, with asymmetrical orange and black stripes. I was short, the same height as the ice cube who smiled at me earlier. I had a dumbstruck expression on my face, my mouth agape, with two small fangs jutting out of my top lip. I blinked once, and handed the mirror back to Lollipop. She gestured to the other seven objects, who were all looking at me. "Alright, Hi-Bounce, this is the rest of the team..." 

I was sitting beside a bush, thinking over the events that had happened earlier. The rest of Team 8-Names had introduced themselves. There was Book, who was talking a lot, Dora, who only said "dadadadada", Gaty,  who was pleasant, Ice Cube,  who was soft spoken, Saw,  who spoke strangely, Taco, who seemed outcast from the rest of the team, and Teardrop, who couldn't speak. They were all girls, making me the only boy.

Bierce's POV

When I had come to, I was already in a group, called 'iance' . One of the objects ,a ruby, ran up to me, chatting excitedly. "Hi! I'm Ruby! Your name must be Amethyst! Wow, you're a gemstone like me!" The others quickly introduced themselves. There was Pencil, Match, Bubble, and Ruby, who made up an alliance, named FreeSmart. Then there was Lighting, Snowball, Flower and Fanny, who were not in the alliance. On Ruby's behalf, I was promptly made a member of FreeSmart. I glanced at my teammates, my eyes locking with Snowball's. He looked at me with a nonchalant expression. "You look strong, it's good to have strong members on our team." He held out his hand and I shook it. 

Book's POV

I watched my teammates talk amongst themselves. Everyone seemed to get along well with each other, our new teammate especially. I glanced at Hi-Bounce, our newest teammate and, the only boy on our team. He seemed to be easygoing, and got along with everyone. He was currently sitting by bush, his eyes closed. I walked over to where he was. "Hey, Hi-Bounce..." His eyes opened at the sound of my voice. "Oh, hey Book." He stretched, glancing at me curiously. "What's up?" I stared at him. He was looking at me sleepily, with half-lidded eyes. I felt my cover grow hot. "U-Uhhh..." I glanced out of the corner of eye, spotting Gaty. "I've got to talk to Gaty now!" I said, a little too quickly. Hi-Bounce nodded, closing his eyes again.  I walked quickly to Gaty. She looked at me, confused. "You're blushing." She stated matter-of-factly. I nodded, my thoughts on Hi-Bounce. I wonder if he thinks about me the same way I think about him...
