Book's POV
It's morning, but the sun hasn't risen yet. I open my eyes and glance around, the rest of the team was asleep. I sigh, rising to my feet.
"Might as well make breakfast," I say quietly, walking into the kitchen. "The others won't be up until later."
"Except Hi-Bounce Ball." I think with a frown, turning on the coffee machine. "I don't know what he's like." I lean against the counter, taking in the quiet morning.
"Making coffee?" I glance at Hi-Bounce, who's standing in the doorway. I nod, and he smiles.
"Should I wake the others?" He asks, and I nod.
Ruby's POV
"Amethyst! Wake up!" I poke the other gem, who stirs, sitting up with a yawn, and blinking sleepily.
"I'm up Ruby," Amethyst murmurs, hopping out of her blankets. She gives a grin. "Let's go wake the others." I hop off of the bed, going over to my teammates, who were sleeping. In the corner of my eye, I spot Amethyst, crawling over to Snowball.
Book's POV
As Bleh leaves the dorm, I notice that out team is the last to arrive. We take our place beside Beep. Four shoots me a glare.
"Took your team long enough Book," He says, glancing at the other teams. "Now that everyone is here, I can announce the first contest." He gestures to a line drawn in the dirt.
"Today's contest is a baton passing relay race! One member of each team starts here, and," His arm stretches far, touching another line a ways away. "Ends here. You will race there and back, passing the baton to your next teammate." I glance down at Hi-Bounce, who's standing beside me, looking eager to start the contest.
"Contestants," Four watches as the eight teams send out their first contestants; Robot Flower from A Better Name Than That, Leafy from Beep, Hi-Bounce Ball from Bleh, Pen from Death P.A.C.T, Marker from Free Food, Ruby from iance, Naily from Team Ice Cube!, and Needle from The Losers! "On your mark, get set..." All of the contestants tense, ready to race. Four looks down at X, who nods, summoning an air horn from out of nowhere. She hands it to Four, who takes it.
"Thanks X." Four says, giving X a wink. She nods, stepping aside.
"On your mark, get set, GO!!"
