Chapter XIII

I wake up in the middle of the night to Sapnap's screaming. I shoot up from my bed in a panic, before realizing that he is live and screaming at his dumb friends. I groan and decide to get dressed. I put on some sweats and an oversized T-shirt and walk through the pitch-black hallway to my brother's room. He perks up as I walk through the door.

He has a 'deep in thought' kind of look on his face as he looks at me. "Why are you up?" He asks not even a second later.

"I heard you scream." I purse my lips in dissatisfaction but sigh and let my face rest as I walk over to his bed. He looks at me but doesn't say anything.

He turns back to his screen, and I just sit there, watching him play. "Yeah, I'm back. No, y/n just walked in." He says to someone in his headset. "She said I woke her up. I know, such a liar, I don't scream that loud." I squint my eyes at him and furrow my brows. Is he in denial or what?

I sit there in silence, listening to his part of the conversation which was really bugging me that I only heard half of what was said. I'm a little confused as to what he's doing in-game, but it's better than sitting around in my room all night. After some time I blackout on his bed.

"Y/n? Y/n wake up." My brother's voice is the first thing I hear waking up. I groan in annoyance. "I know you're up. Move your fat ass so I can sleep."

"Ugh, fine." My voice is groggy from sleep but I move over a bit so he fits on the bed. "G'night," I mumble before the land of dreams once again swoops me up in its arms.

"Awww, look at them!" I hear an excited voice through my confusion. I've just woken up and the first thing I hear is my mother's poor impression of a whisper. I sigh and turn over to see Sapnap's face, way too close to mine for comfort. I wrinkle my nose bridge up in distaste. Yeah, no, I'm not staying here.

I get up and walk over to my own room, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. It's still too early to be awake. I drag my feet along the floor as I walk through my door, and fall down on my bed. I cuddle up under the covers and shut my eyes because everyone knows that the secret to falling asleep is to pretend you're asleep.

However, this isn't working for me right now. I sigh and sit up, resting my back against the wall and my pillows. I grab my phone from the floor and sit around doing nothing for some time before deciding to be productive. Then I realize something. It's Monday. I check the time on my phone. I have classes in just a little over an hour. I go downstairs to grab breakfast, just some plain cereal, only because I have no energy in my body.

I go upstairs with my bowl and sit down at my desk. I stare at myself in the mirror for a minute. I look like trash. Hot trash but still trash. 'Gotta boost that nonexistent self-confidence' I roll my eyes before shoving a spoonful of cereal in my mouth. I'll have to shower and do my makeup before class starts which are in, according to my phone, 57 minutes. I down the milk that's left in the bowl and walk over to the upstairs bathroom. 'Sap if you're there right now I'll-' I think while walking down the hallway.

I yawn and stretch out my back. That was a long time of sitting still in my chair. Guess I'll have to go skating or something now. 'Or I could...' I don't finish the thought before putting it into action.

"SAPNAP!" I yell at him across the house.

"WHAT?" I snicker at his annoyed voice. Bothering my bother never got old.

"WANNA GO SOMEWHERE?" I can't decide where to go so I'll just have him choose for me. Easy.

"SURE. BUT MAKE IT QUICK, I GOTTA STREAM LATER AND DO HOMEWORK." How sad. He still does homework. Sucks to suck I guess. '

I make my way to the hall and wait for my brother while scrolling around on my phone. Then it buzzes in my hand with a message from Karl. I go to our convo to see what he wants.

I quietly laugh, not realizing that Nick's here. I notice it first when he gets super close. I look up at him and see him looking back at me funny.

"What?" I demand.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing, mind your own business sir." I frown at him and turn away so he can't see my screen. Then I feel his breathing in my neck. Oh, what in the entirety of Hades. "STOP PEAKING!" I yell.

"WHY ARE YOU TEXTING KARL?" He yells at the same time. I whine at the loudness of his voice right next to my ear. "Sorry. But still, why are you snatching my friends." He pouts and I mischievously grin back at him.

"Because I can." I stick out my tongue. "Now, where do you wanna go?" I say more seriously.

"Whataburger!" He calls out excitedly. I just laugh at him as we walk through the door in the direction of his car. "Stop bullying me or I'll tell mom." He threatens.

"You wouldn't" I dare him. Then I laugh again and we hop in the car. "Can I have the aux?" I ask him, already reaching for it.

"No." Sap says fast, too fast. He snatches the aux before I get to it. "Your music taste is terrible." He snorts.

"HEY! I'll have you know, my taste in music is great." I frown back at him, a bit offended.

"I'm sure, I'm sure." Is all he says. I frown again and steal the aux, putting on Rät by Penelope Scott. He groans but doesn't say anything, so I relax back in my seat, enjoying the ride.
