Yeosang woke up the following morning, to the sunlight gently stroking his face through the windows - and to a surprising but lovely smell of coffee. He shifted around on the bed, threw the duvet aside only to simply lie there, staring at the ceiling with his hand clenched at his chest.

His eyes felt dry and heavy, and he rubbed them a few times with no luck of changing their current state. Biting his lip he wondered if everything Seonghwa had told him last night had only been a dream?

Still dressed in his pajamas, and well aware that nothing happened between him and his husband in the dark hours of the night, Yeosang sighed. He couldn't shake the guilt that kept lingering inside his mind, nor could he explain why it was there to begin with. He hadn't done anything wrong, so how come he felt like he did?

Maybe it had been a dream after all? A confession that sudden and shocking surely couldn't have been real... Swinging the soft robe over his shoulders, Yeosang walked out the bedroom with a million thoughts running through his head.

But everything went blank when he walked into the kitchen, where Seonghwa was preparing breakfast for them. The kitchen that had cost them thousands of dollars, but which neither of them had used even once before to actually cook in.

"Good morning." The smile on the older's face was hesitant, when he looked over his shoulder to see Yeosang standing in the door.

"Good morning..." Stepping a little closer, Yeosang held the robe closed tightly around his body. He kept staring at Seonghwa, who now had returned to focus on pouring coffee into the porcelain cups they had gotten as a wedding present, but hadn't touched since.

Yeosang sat down at the table when Seonghwa gestured him to, and he took his time pretending to study the delicate hand-painted floral design of his coffee cup, in an attempt to buy himself time to think of what to say.

The matching floral plate with the gold rim was soon filled with scrambled eggs, bacon and fresh cut fruit, but despite the small growl his stomach made he didn't feel particular hungry. Seonghwa had never made breakfast for him, nor any other meal for that matter, and it made Yeosang realize that what he had hoped was only a dream was indeed reality. Seonghwa had confessed to him last night - about his love and about...

They drank their coffee in silence, and Yeosang nibbled on a few grapes while staring out the window, when he suddenly felt Seonghwa's hand on his own.

"I'm sorry if I freaked you out last night," the older said. "In fact, I am sorry about everything."

Slowly, Yeosang turned his head to let their eyes meet - but as he did he instantly regretted his decision. All kinds of emotions stormed through him the moment he looked into the brown eyes next to him, and he felt completely lost inside himself. There had been a time where all he wanted was for Seonghwa to love him, to hold him and kiss him, and to tell him he was the one. He had admired the older for so long when they were younger, had followed the popular high-school senior with hopeful eyes down the hallway.
