Hachiman x reader

Part 23

(Y/N)'s pov.

After PE was lunchtime, and Hachiman (like every other day) dragged me quickly out of the classroom. I didn't know why he did that every day, but I didn't mind. Besides, our new eating spot was closer to the tennis court, so we get to talk to Totsuka too.

-So, are you going to tell Yukino?- I asked while I took some of Hachiman's food.

-Yeah, probably when the club activities start. You can take more if you want...-he said.

-Oh thanks. You can have some of mine too.- I told him.

-Thanks... Anyways, when was the last time you slept?- he asked in a half joking- half serious manner.

I got my phone out to look at myself in the camera.

-Are you serious? Is it really that bad?- I asked.

I didn't even need to ask, because as soon as I saw myself I understood that it was, indeed bad.

I sighed sadly and put my phone away.

-Damn, I'm ugly...- I mumbled mostly to myself.

For a second I forgott hat Hachiman was actually there, so it caught me off guard when he answered.

-You're not ugly, you just look tired. Those are not the same.- he said as he turned his head away from me.

I could see that his ears were red, but I decided to not tease him about it.

-Aww look at you being nice...- I said jokingly. -Thanks.-

I wasn't the blushing type of person, so I could easily hide my feelings whenever I had a crush, so it surprised me to feel my cheeks get warmer.

Hachiman opeened his mouth to say something, but then Totsuka came to us, after he was done practicing.

-Hey guys.- he said, smiling and waving.

-Hi Totsu.- I said, as I tossed his water bottle to him.

He thanked me, and sat down to us.

We talked until it was time to go back in the school.

°Time skip°

It was around 3:10 pm, so club activities started soon, but I thought that I should get a coffee for Hachiman and myself, since I knew he liked Georgia MAX Coffee.

I got to the vending machine, got us our drinks, and sprinted back to our clubroom.

As I got to the door, I screeted to a halt. I reached my hand to open the door, but then I heard noises.

I put my ear to the door, and listened.

-...but none of them actually tried to improve themselves in order to overtake me- I heard Yukinoshita say. - ...those imbeciles...- she said.

I was about to go in, when I heard another voice. Hachiman's voice. I smiled and continued to listen.

-W-well, it couldn't be helped since you were so cute, right?- he asked, and then laughed.

I felt my heart drop.

I knew there was something between them... gosh, I feel so stupid.

I gripped the coffees in my hand tighter. I decided it was time to go inside.

I opened the door, and pretended I didn't hear anything. Yukino went on a rant about her cuteness and such, so I guess she didn't notice me. Hikki on the other hand, noticed me, and smiled. I smiled, sat down beside him, and gave him his coffee.

-Thanks. Hey, what's wrong?- he asked quietly, to not disturb Yukino's little rant.

I couldn't find my voice so I just waved my hand dismissively, and tried to listen to what Yukino was talking about.

-... well, now that I think about it, (Y/N) might be cuter than I am, and she's not that harsh to people, so it's understandable that people like her. But she wasn't in my last school, so I guess I was still the cutest one there, it really was quite troublesome.- she finished her little speech with that.

-Aww, thanks Yukino.- I said with a teasing tone, while leaning my head on my hand.

I should've taken a picture of her shoocked, and embarrassed face. It was amazing.

As she was trying to explain herself, I started to think.

Maybe it is better that he likes Yukino. I'm his only friend, I can't ruin our friendship because of a stupid crush. If they get together I'll be happy for them, no matter what.

We then heard the door slide open, and shortly after we heard the familiar voice of Yui.

-Ya-hoooo~ I've brought a new visitor today!- she said as she pushed forward my bestie.

-Yukino, this is Sai-chan from the tennis club.-

-Good day to you all.- he said shyly.

-Hey Totsu.- I said, as Hikki waved.

-Hey guys.- he said.

As Yukino and Yui talked about Yui not being a real member of the club, I just stared out the window.

-W-well, it couldn't be helped since you were so cute, right?-

I sighed as I thought of those words. They shouldn't have hurt as much as they did. Me and Hachiman weren't even dating after all.

I got pulled out of my thoughts by a tap on my shoulder.

-There's gotta be something wrong, why aren't you telling me?- Hikki asked quietly.

I looked around, and then back to him.

He'll think I don't trust him if I don't tell him...

-I'll tell you on our way back home, okay?- I asked.

He didn't seem satisfied, but nodded regardless.

-So...- we heard Yukino speak.- you said you wanted to strenghten the tennis club, right?-

-Y-yes- Totsu said- I can become stronger...right?- he asked.

-I don't know what Yuigahama told you about us, but this club isn't a convinience store. We'll only help you improve, whether you succeed or not still depends on yourself.- she said.- And as for you Yuigahama, I hope you'll stop saying irresponsible things.

-But if it's you guys on the case, won't it be resolved?- she asked like it was nothing, buta s I looked at Hachiman, I understood, that we both knew how Yukino would translate this.

„So you can't do it?"

-Hmph. You really know how to talk, don't cha, Yuigahama?- she said with a determined look on her face- Very well, we accept your request. We just need to help you improve your technique, right?-

-Yes. If I get better, everyone else will work harder...I think...- Totsuka said.

-So what are we gonna do?- I asked.

-Hmm, let's see. We still have club activities after school so... In lunch break, laps around the track till you die, practice swinging till you die, practice matches till you die. How's that?- she asked with a weird look on her face.

I sweatdropped. This girl...

-Am I really going to die?- Totsu asked innocently.

-Don't worry, we'll protect you!- I said, as I draped my arm around Hikki and pulled him closer to me. -Right Hachiman?- I asked.

-Y-yeah...- he said with a blushing face.

-Well then, we'll start tomorrow.- Yukino said.

-Right!- the four of us said in unison.
