Ice Cream

a/n: f/f = favorite flavor

"Where do you wanna get ice cream?", you suddenly pause, remembering that you don't quite remember where the ice cream store was.

Akaashi laughed and instead grabbed your wrist and pulled you with him through a few street corners, before reaching a small chain of stores. You both find the ice cream store in the middle, and Akaashi opens the door for you to walk in.

"I'm sorry sir no dogs allowed!", the girl behind the counter called, pointing to Onigiri.

"Oh, I'll wait outside with him then!", you say fishing your wallet out of your pocket and handing it to Akaashi as you step out to the sidewalk.

"Are you sure you'll be fine alone?", Akaashi asks as he takes your wallet.

"Yeah yeah don't worry!", you assure him as you kneel down to give Onigiri a few belly rubs while Akaashi goes back into the store to order.

He comes back a few minutes later with 2 cones, and a small cup of whipped cream for Onigiri.

"How much was it?", you ask as Akaashi hands you back your wallet.

"510 yen. Don't worry I didn't use your wallet!", he quickly adds as he hands you one of the cones.

"Oh! Here take this 250!", you take out 250 yen and hand it to him.

"No it's fine! Come on this was just so we could have a good time!", he declines, pushing your hand with the notes back.

"Alright if you insist, just know I don't owe you anything now!", you laugh as you take a small lick from your cone.

"It's f/f. I wasn't sure what flavor you wanted so I just chose that.", Akaashi said as he took a lick of his own cone.

"Lucky guess!", you smile sheepishly as you take another lick.

"Come on let's go sit down somewhere so Onigiri can eat too.", Akaashi says, already walking. You follow closely behind him as he finally stops at a bench in a small park. You sit down and place the cup in front of Onigiri to eat. Akaashi hesitates for a second before sitting down beside you.

"Wow look at the stars Akaashi!", you point up at the stars and smile too see how clear it was.

"It really is a clear night huh?", he murmurs, his eyes following your finger.

"Ack I wish my skin was as clear! Do you know how much cream I put on to make sure I don't break out!?", you laugh, biting the cone of your ice cream.

"I bet you don't need that much, or none at all.", Akaashi smiles taking a small lick of his ice cream.

"OH I FORGOT! Did you finally tell your lover what's up?", you slap your forehead.

"Don't do that, you're head will get hurt! Also ah, no not exactly-", his voice trailed off a little.

"Aww, well any progress to see whether they like you back or not?", you ask.

"You know, maybe.", Akaashi smiles at you.

"Ah really?", you frown a little, but quickly smile again.

"What's wrong y/n?", Akaashi asks frowning, noticing the quick change in expression.

"Nothing, but maybe I like someone too.", you smile at him.

This time it was Akaashi's turn to frown a little as he looked down at Onigiri slowly eating the whipped cream.

"Y/n how do you tell someone you love them?", he quietly asks, catching you off guard as you turn your attention to look back at the sky.

"Hm?", you ask a little more alert.

"How do you tell someone you love them?", he repeats looking away from you.

"Ah, er, you just tell them? I'm really not the person to ask!", you laugh as you finish off your cone. "Why do you ask?", you ask looking back at him.

"It's hard to tell you, so I thought I'd get advice from you.", he replied, turning a bright pink.

"Akaashi what do you mean?", you laugh confused.

Instead of saying anything, Akaashi takes his hand up to your face and pulls you in slowly, leaving enough time for you to pull away if you wanted to. You didn't and smiled when you felt his soft lips on yours.

He was first to pull away for a breath. He studied your face for a moment before wrapping his arms around you, pulling you in. You smile as you let him embrace you.

"I can't believe I didn't realize this whole time!", you scold yourself as you, Akaashi, and Onigiri walk back home.

"Maybe that was good on my side.", Akaashi laughs taking your hand into his.

"Mm, I guess I can tell people we were a classic enemies to lovers pair!", you smile squeezing his hand a little.

"Wait I didn't get to ask you to be my girlfriend first.", Akaashi pauses.

"But the intention was there anyways!", you roll your eyes.

"Formalities.", Akaashi shrugs as he quickly gets down on one knee and holds Onigiri up.

"Y/n.. I've liked you since that night you challenged me to make you like me. And If you're okay with it, and no longer dislike me, would you love to be my girlfriend?", he asks smiling.

"People mostly say would you like to be my girlfriend.", you smirk, taking Onigiri from his hands.

"Well I need to make sure you don't just like being with me!", Akaashi laughs getting up again.

"Fair enough.", you smile as he gives you hand a small squeeze.
