Her fingers trembled as she followed his every step down the high school halls she thought she'd never see again and yet she dreaded them now as she couldn't stop herself from following him as he had compelled her to.
Her heart pounded like lighting striking the ground as it beat so hard against her chest like a bird in a cage, trying to break free. Fear filled every crevice of her, she was scared for her friends so very scared as anger radiated from him with every step he took.
She could feel her stomach lurching at the thought of her friend's blood coating his hands, splattering across his face and his clothes as he reveled in the kill, the revenge.
She didn't want to fear him because she saw the man beyond the madness but it wouldn't do anything to ease the blood-thirsty rage he felt for her betrayal. She knew some part of him cared about her, and she would have to use it to her advantage in keeping her friends alive, in keeping her alive.
She could hear the students laughing and setting up their pranks for senior prank night, so unaware of the danger that appeared with a handsome face and a rich accent lurking through the halls.
Klaus halted to a stop with his hands behind his back, Salem stopping beside him. Compelled to be his shadow, to keep her mouth shut. Her eyes widened as Elena walked through the navy double doors, a smile on her face turning to panic when met with Klaus.
"There's my girl," he taunted with a grin.
"Klaus," Elena whispered making him smile before breaking off into a sprint only for him to appear in front of her as she turned the corner. "You're supposed to be dead. What are we gonna do about that?".
He gripped her arms tightly, forcing her to walk with him as she struggled against his grip. Salem followed against her own free will listening to Elena's struggle while Klaus spoke. "You put a rather large kink in my plans, sweetheart. The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. I haven't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing,".
"If you're going to kill me, just do it! But let her go, "Elena pleaded as he dragged her along like a ragdoll.
"Not until I know I'm right. But I do have plans of making you suffer. As for my sweet liar back there, she's in time out right now," he said shoving Elena through the gym doors, Salem watched the students setting up cups all around the gym with worry.
"Attention seniors, you have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home," Klaus said with an American accent making the students groan as they started to leave while he guided the girls to the center of the gym.
"You two I remember you," he said to the boy and girl in front of them, Salem remembered Dana had informed Elena of the song Klaus had dedicated to her at the decade dance that night when he had been in Alaric's body.
