━━━━Our Town Part Two━━━━
Salem had awoken from several missed calls and texts from her friends worried about her, she hadn't realized she had slept the entire day. It had been a while since she'd gotten such a restful night of sleep but in her defense Klaus had showed up at like three in the morning.
He had left before she woke up which was to be expected but the bracelet on her wrist served as a reminder for what he had said to her. Each word setting her brain on fairs at the thought of them.
The boots he had bought her crunched the leaves beneath her feet as she made her way toward the cemetery per Elena's request saying that Caroline was upset about her birthday.
The girl had died and she'd forever be stuck in a teenage girls body which Salem hadn't really considered and though her and Caroline often butted heads, they had been bestfriends since the beginning of time and she wanted Caroline to have a good birthday. So if giving the girl a much needed funeral would bring her solace then Salem would give the greatest eulogy.
She could see Bonnie, Matt, Caroline and Elena with flashlights walked toward a crypt.
"Oh, oh there it is,"Elena said as Salem ran up to her and pinched her sides making Elena scream as her flashlight fell.
Salem burst with laughter as Bonnie joined in and hugged Salem. The two hadn't seen eachother much but they had briefly talked over the phone when Bonnie had heard what had happened. Salem didn't want the girl to worry considering she always carried the brunt of everyone's problems.
"You're evil," Matt said laughing as Caroline helped Elena up. Caroline smiled at Salem, still wary of what happened between them the other night.
"If the roles were reversed you would've pissed yourself," Elena said punching Salem's shoulder as they walked.
"God, Salems the most jumpy out of us all. You couldn't bump into her without her getting into a fighting stance," Caroline said making them laugh some more as Bonnie pushed the crypt gate open.
"Happy Birthday," Salem said to Caroline, handing her a necklace with her birth stone and Caroline hugged her.
"It's nothing special but you know I'm terrible at gifts," Salem said watching Caroline put it on as they followed their friends.
"I love it, thank you!" Caroline said, her smile not reaching her eyes. She was sad and Salem wished there was more she could do to comfort her but she couldn't necessarily comprehend what Caroline felt because she was still human in a sense and Caroline wasn't.
