"I activate my Counter Trap, "SIF - Light Reflection"! When you activate your monster effect, when I control "SIF" Xyz monster, I can negate your effect and destroy your card!"
Suddenly, the judges asked both duelists to temporarily stop the duel to check if Masumi cheated. And they were right. The first effect of Light Reflection says: "When your opponent activates a monster effect that would destroy a "SIF" Xyz monster(s) you control: Negate the effect, and if you do, destroy it."
"In this case, Masumi misplayed the Counter Trap, "SIF - Light Reflection". So, we must banish all "SIF - Light Reflection" from her hand, Deck and field in this duel so that she cannot use it again. Also, her LP will be cut in half as a penalty."
Masumi's LP sharply dropped to 3900 after the penalty. And the effect of Nightmare, plus the effect of Crimson Forest, dealed 2300 damage to her; therefore her LP went to 1600.
"Now, Duowing, attack H2H Kotori! 8-bit Flamewing!"
Masumi's LP decreased to 1500. Both of her monsters were destroyed.
Yukinori then had no monster that was able to attack for the rest of the turn. If either Nightmare or Duowing was able to attack directly, that would be the end of the game. However, it would be likely unable to trigger if Yukinori was still stuck in this situation. Maybe the deck Masumi was playing had the ability of creating more resources on the field during the next turn, same as "Rokket" deck did. Maybe... Therefore, he had to create for him a chance of finishing the duel during either Battle Phase or Main Phase 2 of the turn.
"I activate the effect of Dinity from my Graveyard! I banish it from my Graveyard to allow one of my "M/W Burnblock" monsters to attack again this Battle Phase. Go, Nightmare, attack Masumi directly! 8-bit Firedash!"
Masumi lost the game.
In the tournament, "SIF - Light Reflection" was a new card from the "SIF" archetype. Therefore, it was easy to understand the reason Masumi misplayed the card.
All of μ's couldn't think that Masumi might make that kind of mistake, but she did. And they couldn't even believe that the "SIF" deck, which was currently in the meta, lost the duel with a non-meta deck. So, some members left the watching area and went home. However, for all remaining audiences, it was a day that they would never forget.
Right after the first game in the tournament, there was a scream. Another strange object appeared, harming some people in that area. The holders of the tournament announced that it would be temporarily postponed.
"Haha. Now the creation of darkness is here! Prepare to die!"
