Thank the gods that we're out of there.
Denki and I leave the store, deciding that looking at candy and such would not only be too much of a temptation, but not worth buying after the cashier had been so odd.
We laugh uncontrollably, walking throughout the mall, peeking in and out of a few stores before we finally gravitate back to the repair store, paying quickly and grabbing my phone.
"Can you believe that cashier? They really tried to tell us we were destined to be together."
I'm a fairly spiritual person, but come on....
"Yeah- I didn't know that wannabe psychics worked at ice cream parlors- I was waiting for them to try and read my palms."
"Yeah- I missed out on this month's horoscope- I guess I should've asked."
He and I both giggle at the thought, licking our ice cream in between cackles.
We continue walking, window-shopping and giggling, before we find a secluded area to sit down and eat at for a minute.
He's finished laughing at this point, but continues to lightheartedly speak between licks on his ice cream.
"God, I almost wish that we just played along and told them we were together or something. They *did* say that we'd be a cute couple."
He bends over, leaning on his knees in a relaxed fashion.
A cute couple, huh?
Yeah, I figure we'd probably look pretty good.
"It might've saved us from that weird-ass conversation, that's for sure."
We keep talking and cracking jokes for a few minutes, before we decide to people-watch and relax in a comfortable silence next to each other.
I tinker with my newly-fixed phone for a second of two, before I find my gaze wandering around the mall.
My eyes trail from person to person, then to the floor, trailing across the pattern of the ground until it meets Denki's foot. Without thinking, I mindlessly let my gaze travel to his face as I eat my ice cream.
My thoughts begin wandering as my eyes roam his skin.
Today has been such a ride.
Every time I look at him though, it calms my mind for something.
I was originally going to ask him if something was wrong, and why today's flirting had been so chaotic, but now I'm scared for some reason.
I mean, he and I's feelings never faded. Or at least, mine didn't.
Today though, they just feel... stronger?
I don't really understand what's going on here, but...
Looking at him is making my heart feel weird.
I'm not one for Astrology, really- but is Mercury in retrograde or something?
My thoughts are completely interrupted when I feel something touch my skin. I look down to see a familiar hand on top of mine, attempting to grab it.
I turn my eyes back up to where they'd been, and see Denki with a sweet grin on his face.
Okay, I might be too scared of rejection to ask what I wanted earlier', but I have another idea.
"Hey Denki?"
His face falters for a second before he gives me a 'hm?' in response.
"Setting aside how creepy and just.. weird that cashier was, do you actually think their statement made any sense? I mean realistically, if you were to read that on some stupid Instagram quotes page or something, what would you think about it?"
