The white clouds decorated the blue skies with unrepeatable shapes of surreal flowers while the last rays of sunshine gave them never-seen-before colors.

The lonely cherry blossom was standing in the middle of an abandoned road. A girl was sitting underneath the tree writing in her diary. She was writing the thoughts she never had the courage to voice. Writing these she would always feel weak and cowardly. Although everyone around her thought of her as the strongest and the bravest she knew she was the greatest actress that could ever exist.

She would always display a strong personality, but on the inside she was just as lost as any of us if not more. On the inside she was a small child craving love and affection.

Nari put her pencil down, closed her diary and stood up. She started walking towards the city. She fished her headphones from her bag, put on some music and turned off the sounds of the streets. Her imagination took her to another world as she continued walking without an exact destination.

While walking she started looking around and came across a painting. The painted canvas was leaning on a dumpster.

The painting was weird. It was full of weird shapes but what caught Nari's eyes were not the shapes - it was the colors. Variations of blues went all over the painting highlighting the shapes and giving them lives. Nari has never seen so many beautiful shades of blues. She was mesmerized by the painting so she took it.

She took the painting home. For the longest time the painting was just leaning on her tv stand. Whenever she would sit on the couch she would admire the painting. It gave her a feeling of familiarity, a feeling of comfort, calmness but sadness at the same time.
———-

Years passed since that incident. Nari had moved out of the apartment she used to live in. She was now living in a larger one. She finally found a place to hang the painting.

She was now healed. She didn't feel lost anymore and found a source of love and affection - her dog. The cute little golden retriever was her source of happiness and he was named just like that - Joy.

Joy loved the rain. Whenever it would rain Nari and Joy would get out to the streets and run around. Nari would laugh at how cute Joy was. He would try to drink the rain, then would jump on the rain puddles making it splash everywhere. The passer - byes would look at them smiling. Some kids would start running around with them and would pet Joy. Joy would start licking the kids out of excitement. Giggles and happy emotions would radiate from them.
———-

After work Nari decided to visit an art supply shop. Having the blue painting in her house gave her inspiration to start creating herself. Although having the nature to share her emotions trough her writings, she decided to find a new way of letting everything out.

As soon as she entered, she felt the calm aura of the store and a small smile spread trough her face. She started walking around trying to choose what to buy.

Her calmness was interrupted by a grown man whining and another grown man yelling at him. Nari didn't pay much attention to it. She just continued choosing items.

After paying for her items she continued on walking home. Entering the elevator she came across a man she has never seen before. It was unusual for her because she knew every single neighbor but she shrugged it off. She greeted the man and the man did the same thing.

'What floor are you going?' The man asked.
'The sixth.' Nari answered.
'Oh, me too.' The man said.
'So you must be my new next door neighbor. I'm Nari by the way.' Nari said sticking her hand out for the man to shake.
'I'm Jake.' Jake took her hand. 'Nice to meet you.'
'You too!' Nari said giving him the brightest smile. Jake smiled back, an honest smile this time. It was weird but Jake was mesmerized by her smile right away.

'Are you new to the city?' Nari asked.
'Oh, no. I just changed my apartment. The apartments here were said to be good and affordable and the neighborhood is good.'
'Yeah, it really is. You'll fit right in. Everyone in here is welcoming.'
'I can tell. A lot of neighbors gave me a warm greeting. A lady... Ms. Park I guess? I am not sure but she even baked me a pie.'
'Yes, Ms. Park is always like that. She gave me one too when I moved in. She's a sweet lady.'
'She really is.'

The doors of the elevator opened and the both of them got out. They approached their doors.
'Well it was nice meeting you, Nari.'
'You too, Jake.' Nari replied smiling. As soon as she opened the door Joy jumped on her and started licking her non-stop. Jake giggled and looked at the happy two. Then Joy noticed Jake and came up to him sniffing him. Joy suddenly jumped on Jake and started licking him too while Jake giggled and started patting him.

Nari was surprised at Joy's actions. Yes, he was very welcoming and nice and would let everyone pet him. But it never happened this fast and sudden.

Look how cute Jake is in that picture 🥺my heart can't take it 😩
