We sat in the farmhouse in silence until Sam came back. He held two bags of food in his hands. One he tossed to Dean, then he sat down and dug through his bag. We were all awkwardly silent. I cleared my throat and said," I'll be back." then walked into the guest bedroom and closed the door. I looked up at the ceiling, then closed my eyes.
"I don't know if you can hear me, or if you're even listening, but I need guidence. I don't understand these emotions, this life. Please, take me back. Let me fight. I don't belong here." I prayed softly. I listened for anything that would tell me they'd heard, but there was nothing. Anger flared in my mind. "Answer me!" I yelled in frustration, then listened once again. Nothing. I sighed in defeat and sat on the bed with my head bowed. Just then, I heard a knock on the door.
"Cas?" it said quietly. It was Dean. He opened the door and walked over to me. I said nothing, and continued to stare at the floor. He took a seat next to me. "Any word from the Heavens?" He asked. I shook my head. He nodded. "Well, if it means anything, me and Sam are here, and you can trust us." He said kindly. I felt the warmth in my chest again. Suddenly, I reached out and drew Dean in for a hug. He sat stiffly for a moment, then slowly hugged me back. I could feel his muscles, sharp and strong, and I could feel the stubble on his cheek. He hugged me tightly, and I did the same. I tuned into his feelings, and he had the same mystery feeling I had.
"Guys?" Sam called from the other room, and I heard him get up and start walking away towards the door. I felt Dean let go of the hug, and I imagined myself standing over by the window. Sam walked in to find me standing my the window and Dean standing by the bed. "C'mon, I think we got a lead." He walked back out of the room. Me and Dean shared relieved glances. I could tell Dean didn't want Sam to know about what had happened, and I nodded to let him know I understood. He smiled, then motioned for us to go out and join Sam. We walked into the room and I took my spot on the sofa.
"So get this, there's a ton of demon omens in a place called Black Earth Kansas. Apparently, this has been going on for a while. If Crowley is anywhere, it's there." Sam said, typing rapidly on his laptop.
"Kansas is quite a ways from here... How is you mojo, Cas?" Dean asked, turning towards me. Using my powers to teleport to the window had drained them, but I lied.
"I should be able to do it, no sweat." I said, and ran my hand through my hair. Sam got up and started gathering his things.
"Well, let's not waste time. We'll pack up and leave in about half an hour." He said, filling a jar with water. Dean got up as well. He grabbed one of his bags off of the ground and threw it at me.
"Put that in the Impala, will ya?" He said, already turning to grab another bag.
We packed were soon ready to teleport. Dean climbed into Impala and Sam followed. I took a second and prayed," Please, give me enough power to teleport." I climbed into the backseat and said," Ready?"
"Yep," Sam replied," Let's go."
I reached out to their foreheads and imagined us in Kansas. A sharp pain struck my mind and I was falling. I landed on the ground with a thud. The Impala was nowhere to be seen. I panicked and automatically sent out my radar, searching for them. I had teleported them to the right spot, but I must have messed it up last moment, for I was about five miles away. I reached up to my face. My nose was bleeding again. I focused on the Impala and put one last burst of energy into teleporting to it. In a flash, I was there. The terrible pain in my head faded and I looked up. Dean was looking around when he saw me. I took a step towards him, but my vision swam and I lost my balance. My legs gave out and began to fall.
"Cas!" Dean shouted and ran to catch me. Through my blurred vision I could see him carrying me to the Impala. Sam came to help and they set me in the back.
"I'm fine." I said groggily as I struggled half-heartedily to get back up.
"I thought you said your angel powers were ok!" Dean said angrily. "You could have died just teleporting us!"
My vision was beginning to clear, I could see his worried face looking at me. "But I didn't." I said, rubbing my still aching head. Sam handed Dean a napkin and he used it to wipe the blood from my face.
"I'm going to go check us into a hotel." Sam said, and he walked off. Dean dropped the bloody napkin on the ground.
He looked me in the eyes. "No more lies. If you can't teleport us, we can drive, ok? I don't want you to get hurt. I- Sam and I need you, and we're going to get you back to heaven."
"Dean, I'm trying to save you from going to Hell. The faster we got here, the more time we'd have to save you. How much time do you have left?" Dean looked down at the ground and mumbled something.
"What?" I asked leaning in closer.
"One week." He whispered softly.
My eyes widened. "We best get to work then." I said, fear filling my mind.
