Your P.o.v.:

"Wow, okay, breathe. Just breathe Y/N, you got this. It's going to be fine. You've done this before." I took a last deep breath before my hands touched the cold steel of the door handle. My whole body was shaking. I can't remember the last time I was so nervous. Maybe I've never been before. I pushed the door open and the warmth of the air coming from the entrance hit my face. No turning back now. I took the first step inside the building. The sound of my sneakers hitting the floor where echoing through the hallway. Everything was so silent you wouldn't believe you're in a film studio. But this was no normal film studio. These rooms belonged to no other company than the marvel studios. It was what I've been dreaming of for years and I worked extremely hard to finally get here. A big smile rose on my face and I could feel my eyes lighting up by the sight of the movie posters. I spun around in circles and looked up to the ceiling. It was huge. I couldn't hold myself back and let out a quirky squeal. "Excuse me, Miss. Can I help you?" I turned around to face a woman in her thirties. She was dressed formal like she worked in an office. Her hair was dark with a few white strands glistening in the sunlight. She smiled at me and I could see some perfect white teeth shining through. I returned the smile and took a few steps closer to her. "Hi, my name is Y/N Y/L/N. I'm the new makeup artist for the upcoming production. I was told to come here for the preparations." "Oh yes, Miss Y/L/N. We've been waiting for you. It's very nice to finally see the face behind the name. Please follow me, I'll show you around." She waved her hand and gestured me to follow her. Honestly, I didn't expect such a lovely welcome but I wasn't mad about it. The woman walking in front of me turned out to be Catherine from the personnel department. We were passing a lot of doors where people were having animated discussion or work silently. It was ridiculous to see these exact opposites working door on door. As much as I wanted to follow Catherines monolog about the building and the different departments, I just couldn't focus on her. I've been waiting for this moment for months. A smirk was growing on my face while my memories took me back to the day I got the offer from Disney to work for them as full-time makeup artist. It was my chance to make a fresh start and I took it without a second thought. Suddenly I was pulled from my thoughts because I almost ran into Catherine who stopped in front of a massive double-winged door. "Ready to see the place where magic happens?", she asked me with a slight wink. "Fuck yeah!" My eyes widened and I covered my mouth with my hands. Did I really just said that out loud? I usually tried to cover up my craziness with a distinctive manner of speech but in situations like this it often happened that I wouldn't think before I speak. Surprisingly Catherine started laughing. It was hilarious because she was grunting in between her laughters. I couldn't resist any longer and bursted out in laughter. She was wiping her tears away while I had to hold my belly. It hurt from all the laughing. We both had to catch our breaths for a moment. I looked her in the eyes. They were still watery but she straightened up and I did the same. "You will definitely fit in here", was the last thing she said before she opened the doors. Their creaking send shivers down my back but I was too thrilled to even notice. Right in front of me laid down the holy chambers of makeup artistry. The room seemed endless. I counted at least ten seats each side. The interior was modern but not too fancy. A few pops of colour in form of pictures and posters were hanging on the walls. In the middle of the room stood a huge wooden table. A handful of artists were surrounding it, bowing over some sketches. The way they were looking at the drafts told me that they weren't completely satisfied with what was on it. I felt a familiar itching in my fingers. This always happened when I was curious and wanted to start working. I heard Catherine beside me clearing her throat. If they haven't noticed us then, they clearly have now. All heads were turning towards us. Breathe. I tried to calm myself down inside my head. I hated being the centre of attention. That's why I'm working behind the cameras. The film industry has been fascinating me since my childhood, but the older I got the more I noticed how uncomfortable I got when all attention was on me. I decided it was best for me to stay hidden in the background. But now it was too late to hide. I snapped out of my trance when I heard Catherine start talking. "Guys, this is Y/N Y/LN. She's the new makeup artist so please welcome her." I smiled shyly at the group. A bald headed man came up to me and held out his hand. He was wearing glasses which made his hazelnut brown eyes bigger. A playful smile grew on his face. "Hi, I'm Matthew. Nice to meet you. Welcome on board." He seemed charming so I took his hand and shook it. "It's my pleasure", I said so quickly I almost stumbled over my own words. Great. That's how you make a good first impression. I lowered my head in defeat and let out a laughing sigh. Suddenly I felt a slight pat on my back. I looked up to meet Matthews eyes who lit up in amusement. "No need to feel embarrassed. We've all been in the same position when we were new." I turned my head towards the other members of the crew who smiled at me warmly and nodded. I felt how the imaginary heavy weight fell off my shoulders and I started smiling. My breathing calmed down and I was able to speak again. "Yeah, sorry. This is just so unbelievable." Catherine has been silent the whole time but now she stepped up again. "I think you're in good hands now. I'll leave you alone then." I turned around and thanked her. She just nodded and closed the doors behind her. As I spun back towards the table, everyone was starring at me. The feeling of uneasiness came back and I shifted nervous from one leg to the other. "Umm...is there something wrong?", I broke the silence. "No, we are just waiting for your real personality to come through." A mischievous smile grew on my face. Makeup Artists now each other too well.
