"You may begin coloring," the teacher exclaimed as the children reached for the array of crayons at their table. Brilliant mixtures of colors filled each child's page. The teacher felt it was important to take a break from a lesson and let the children express themselves. An air of creativity seemed present in the room. All was at peace. Until a crash was heard.

Glass sprinkled down on the busy children. A window had been kicked in, exposing the blinding sunlight previously hidden by curtains. A wave of panic crashed into to the once calm environment. The teacher called for the children to come to her. They took shelter under the teacher's large wooden desk. Suddenly, a shadow filled the exposed sunlight.

"I-it can't be," the teacher stuttered, stumbling backwards. A large kangaroo stood at the center of the kindergarten classroom. Its sandy brown fur sent a shiver of fear down the teacher's spine. It locked eyes with her. She froze, perpetually trapped in the kangaroo's cold glare. It gave her a swift nod and turned toward the children's backpacks. Quickly as it had come, the kangaroo scooped up the their lunch bags and escaped through the window. No one in the classroom could move. They stood, trapped in a fearful moment, for the rest of time.
