your body instantly freezes at the sound of schlatts deep voice saying those three words-and you feel your eyes widen and your mouth open to answer, but no words are able to escape from it
you've have only been together for a little over five months , but there is a love between you that neither you nor schlatt have experienced in the past
it was only moments ago that johnathon dipped his head to tenderly press his lips against yours softly - and when schlatt had pulled away from you his eyes had briefly met yours - and he could not stop himself from saying the three words that have been sitting on his tongue for weeks
and the only response that youre able to find is, "huh?"

schlatt lowers his head to hide his soft laughter as you watch his brown shriveled hair bounce as he lifts his head to look back at you
"i love you," he repeats "there's no way you didn't hear me the first time"
and youre confused by the confidence in his voice, as if he does not doubt his words at all , the confusion is evident through your furrowed eyebrows and narrow eyes "why are you saying this now?"
schlatt pauses and raises his eyebrows "youre asking me why i'm telling you that i love you?"
"no?i don't think so?i don't know-it just came as a surprise i guess." you say as the air becomes thick
"but i hope you know that i love you too,john"
and your words cause schlatt to react just as you had when he first said those three words.his body slightly freezes,but his eyes slowly glance over your face.
"say it again?" he asks in a slightly demanding tone
"i love you too,johnathon"
schlatt laughs as his own words are repeated to him "who woulda' thought that we'd be lovebirds huh?" and even though he's cracking jokes - he realizes that maybe loving you was all he needed to do
