"ITS THREE AM YOU BETTER HAVE A
             REAL GOOD REASON FOR THIS."

schlatt yawned rolling over in bed as he held the phone up to his ear. he heard loud shifting on the other end of the line as you adjusted your own position in bed.

"i'm sorry for waking you up i tried to call ted but he wouldn't pick up and i just-"

"woah woah woah there calm down.... youre okay man. just let me know what's going on" he cut you off, being no stranger to your nervous ramblings

you took a few sharp breaths, feeling ridiculous. you thought you really shouldn't have called; this wasn't a life or death situation. this was just your brain getting to itself again

"it's really fucking stupid jay... i just," a beat
"you and the boys like me right?"

schlatt stood from his bed flicking on the light switch. he should've known from the first ring that this was what the call was about. sometimes he forgot that your brain was constantly feeding you lines of insecurity, and he mentally cursed himself for doing so.

"you already know you don't have to ask that. we're your friends, we love you doll."

your heart swelled at the nickname he had given you. no matter how many times he'd called you it,it seemed to give you that flush of familiarity and comfort
"i know, realistically i know...sometimes i just feel like you don't."

"you want me to come over?" he asked already starting up his car-he wasn't taking no for an answer. he was awake, and he knew you would be too if you didn't get real reassurance from him.

"are you absolutely insane jay?" you asked geniunely, "i'm across the highway, no do not come over"

"its three in the morning how much traffic do you seriously think theres gonna be" he mocks rhetorically

the silence on the other side of the phone had already answered the question

"ill see you soon."

"jay?" you said not wanting to end the call just yet, grasping onto the sound of his voice,
"i love you, man. thank you for coming. genuinely."

"i love you too doll. i'll see you soon''
