"C'mon Brodin!" Toast complained from the couch he was sitting at. "Me and Poki reserved this room yesterday. Plus, it has them cookies!"

Brodin crossed his arms from across the room. "You know how it goes Toast. Don gets higher priority, regardless of the reservation date."

"What is he even doing in there?!" Toast complained.

Brodin shrugged. "I wish I knew. Maybe it has something to do with Rae." Toast remembered Rae and his notorious fight. On second thought, he didn't want to remember it anymore.

"Yeah, but Rae's long gone..." Toast trailed off.

Brodin snorted. "You'd be surprised. Did you think Corpse was our only recruit yesterday?"

"No. No, no, no, no. You have got to be joking!" Toast muttered frantically. "I am going to lose my mind if I have to deal with her again!"

"I wish I knew why Don Scarra is taking his time to speak with the two." Brodin sighed. "He's gotten so secretive recently. Hasn't been telling me much anymore, or anybody really. Lily tried to talk to him yesterday, but he got pretty defensive."

"Well that sucks." Toast said getting up from his seat, not really paying attention to what Brodin said. "So, how about I just go in to get a couple of bags of cookies and-" Toast paused as he saw someone standing in the doorway.

"Hey Toast." Rae said cautiously.

"Agh!" Toast yelled, shooing away Rae. "I'll send one of my overseers to deal with you, go away!"

"Well, fortunately for you, I'm not here to talk with you." Rae said. "I'm here to talk with the Don." Brodin stepped aside with a nod. "Also, I'm not even employed under you anymore, I'm one of Poki's overseers now." Rae continued.

"I see you two have made amends." Brodin said, rolling his eyes. "Well, I should go. Micheal wanted to talk to me about something, so I'll be in the garage if you need me."

"I gotta go too." Rae said. "I shouldn't keep the Don waiting."

It wasn't long after Brodin and Rae had left Toast heard another pair of footsteps.

"Yoohoo!" Poki exclaimed as she walked into the lounge. "Sup Toast!"

"Lemme guess, you rehired rae." Toast said dully.

"I rehired Rae." Poki confirmed.

Toast slumped back into the couch he was relaxing on. "Uuuughhhh..." he groaned.

Poki shrugged. "Hey, you gotta admit she's good at her job. Just because you two butted heads last time doesn't change that. Besides, what's your problem with her anyways?" Poki asked.

"She's disloyal." Toast complained.

"Maybe to you." Poki shrugged. "You can be a pretty hard leader to follow. Believe it or not, not everyone likes being yanked around like a wind up toy."

"I like manipulating people!" Toast exclaimed. "Besides, the point is, we can't trust her."

"Good news is, you don't have to trust her." Poki smiled. "You just have to trust me. And in case you're still undecided..." Poki leaned in and whispered something into Toast's ear. Toast's eyes narrowed.

"This sounds...really risky." Toast said.

"Eh, it'll be fine." Poki replied.

"Fair enough." Toast said, shaking Poki's hand.

"Anyways, I'm gonna head back to my section. Take care!" and Poki left the room, leaving Toast still staring at the door to the meeting room.

A/N: Yeah I know, super short chapter, my bad, I just couldn't think of anything else to write in this section since I was saving some ideas for some other chapters. Might revisit this chapter if I feel like it though.

Edit: Wow I actually had the energy to rewrite this chapter (I removed peter and put in Brodin fyi).
