As Namjoon rides the waves back to the beach shore everyone waves and cheers happily that he's succeeded. Now the tests of man have been completed, everyone is happy that it's now just time to celebrate. With his boat on the beach Namjoon jumps down from the ladder and walks to the people waiting for him, however everyone's smiles fade into shock.
Namjoon's hair has turned a pale purple, the people only associate such exotic colors with demons. Many back away in fear thinking Namjoon has been possessed by a demon while in the ocean.
"W-what's wrong?" Namjoon gets closer, making everyone back away in fright.
"My son," His father steps forward unafraid. "Your hair has turned into the color of those creatures we fear, of the creatures we do not dare speak of."
Namjoon quickly runs to the ocean and looks into the clean water, his reflection shows that this is true, his hair an impossible color. Just like the demon Yeonsin was seen in, an impossible color only demons possess.
"Let me look upon the young master," Elder Ji quickly makes her way through the crowd to the ocean where Namjoon stares at himself.
The hue that she saw before has become brighter, the touch of the gods is what has happened here. He has not been possessed but blessed.
"Kim Namjoon," The elder calls out to him, snapping him out of his reflection. Namjoon looks at the elder woman frightened about her verdict.
"This child, our young master, our future chief, has been touched. Touched by the hand of a god, a god that was once one of our own, a god selfless and wise just like our Kim Namjoon." The elder takes out a paint brush from her dress, going into the water with him, she wets the brush in the salt water. As she chants, she draws the crescent moon on his forehead, the water sticking to his skin and sparkling white. "He is called the Moonchild, gifted with the symbol of the moon."
The people of the tribe all shout out with glee, Namjoon's father tearing up at his son's achievement.
The men all drag him out of the water and start to sprint with him back into the village, the children and teens waiting all hear the cheers. Emerging from the trees the men shout, "Seokjin!" and the children shout, "Seok!" the teens, "Jin!"
The whole village rejoiced in great triumph, no deaths and no trial failed. Food and wine are handed out as the children play. Flowers are thrown out to the new adults as they pass by.
A young man only next year to do his trials looks around in the crowds to find his good friend. His black hair bouncing up and down as he maneuvers through the crowd.
"Namjoon!" He yells out.
"Jungkook!" Namjoon yells back.
Jungkook smiles and runs in the direction of the deep voice, he sees his tall friend but does not recognize him at first. His hair is white with a pastel purple on top.
"Namjoon?!" Jungkook looks at his friend with wide eyes. "Y-your hair!" he points out.
"Oh yeah," Namjoon moves his hair back a bit, "I kinda got blessed by a god today," He laughs nervously.
Jungkook's eyes get even wider and his mouth goes agape. "You what?!" he yells out in shock.
Namjoon chuckles at his young friend's expression and just starts to guide him to the meadow where the tall wildflowers are in bloom. In this place away from all the noise Namjoon explains what elder Ji had said and what happened to him during the trials. The whole time Jungkook looked at Namjoon as if he were a god.
