Kai

I opened my eyes in the front seat of my truck after I felt Kaia, my beautiful cat with gray fur and green eyes, rub her head against my arm, she began to nibble on my bracelet, so I pushed her face away from it. "What'cha doin?" I say in a soft tone, petting her small head. I've been living in my truck for about a month, ever since my mom kicked me out of the house, just for the hell of it. She does this so often that I don't even mind it anymore.

I arrived at my house, and texted my stepdad when I was at the door. He opens it and I hand him my cat. I have to go to school, but I can't leave her in the car. My mom was sleeping at the time, so it was okay for me to stop by for a bit. "Do you want to try to shower?" He asks, setting Kaia down on the tile floor. "No, I'll shower at school," I say, he sighs. He hands me the clothes I asked for and I peck his cheek before walking back to my truck. My stepdad and I are pretty close, before I turned 18, he always tried to become my legal father and fight for custody from my mom, but now I'm 19, so it doesn't matter anymore.

"Hey," I say, meeting with my childhood best friend, Arden, when I arrived at school. He has short brown hair, light brown eyes, with long pretty eyelashes. He was quite handsome and pretty extroverted. He and I are like opposites, he is one of the most popular students at our school and makes friends easily, me on the other hand, I'm pretty rude to people that I don't know, it's not intentional, I just don't like people, and people only know me because of Arden. "I need to shower," I say out loud. "Are you still sleeping in your car?" He asks, looking down at me with worry. "I told you that my mom said you could stay with us. You know that she loves you," Arden reminds me. I know that I'm always welcome with Arden's family, I just always felt like they secretly hated me. "I know, I know," I sigh, looking at my legs as Arden and I walked to the locker rooms. I was thankful that he stopped pushing me with it.

I walk into the girls locker room and quickly get undressed. The water was cold at first but eventually got warm. I let the water hit my face and chest and stood there for a minute, taking in the peaceful silence I had. The bell rings, but I didn't rush. My teachers don't expect me to show up anyways. I heard a door open and I looked out of the shower. "Felix," I smile at the younger girl. She had a towel wrapped around her body when she started the shower next to me. I heard my shower curtain open and Felix had popped her head into my shower, not hiding the look she gave me from head to toe. "Yes?" I ask, feeling self conscious. "Can I borrow your shampoo?" she asks, I hand it to her quickly and she disappears again. It gets silent once again, just the sound of the water hitting the ground echoing through the locker room.

After I finished, I stepped out of the shower and my towel was gone. I let out an annoyed sigh. "Guess I'll have to airdry," I whisper to myself. "Or you could try to get it out of my hands," Felix challenges me, she didn't have her towel on either, and I didn't hide the fact that I was checking her out. I've had a crush on Felix for years, I couldn't resist a peek. She holds it above her head as if she wasn't three inches shorter than me. "You're shorter than me," I step closer. I was reaching for the towel when she quickly brought it behind her back. Before she could move once more, I quickly reached my arms behind her and grabbed the towel, our bare bodies rubbed against each other. My eyes met hers and I panicked. I quickly wrap the towel around my body and walk away. Unfortunately I slip in the puddle of water outside of the shower, just before I hit the floor. "Kai," I hear a voice and shake my head to find myself back in the shower.

I snap out of my thoughts and look at Arden sitting on the bench with his back against the red and gray lockers. "Hurry up," he says, looking at his phone. Of course, I zoned out. "Sorry," I say, quickly putting the conditioner on and washing my body. I finish up and walk out in my towel. I grab my black panties and slide them on under the towel, I take the towel off and face my back towards Arden so I could put my bra on. I felt more comfortable changing in front of him than with my own mom, it could be because he's gay and I grew up with him, but that wasn't the point. I slid on my black, ripped skinny jeans and a white skin tight tank top that exposed a lot of cleavage. "How do I look?" I ask, Arden looks me up and down. "Hot, now let's go."
