Kate

Kai returned back to the cabin after three days at the hospital. She seemed to be back on her feet before the first day was over, but the doctor said she had to stay. I'm not sure where we were in terms of our relationship. It's very clear we both have strong feelings for each other, but we've not made anything official.

We finished our training for the day and all rested in the cabin. Everyone was doing their own thing in the main room, but Kai and Felix were gone. I could feel my stomach turning in knots, thinking about what they could be doing. Kai said she no longer had feelings for Felix, but I wasn't sure how to feel. I'd known that she has liked my sister since we were younger, I doubted those feelings could just go away.

It was around 10PM by the time they got back, Kaia jumped out of my lap and walked over to Kai when they walked inside the cabin. Kai's face lit up when she walked over to me. "Where did you run off to?" I ask in the calmest tone I could. "Just for a walk," She interwinds her fingers with mine, her green eyes didn't leave my face, even when Ace began speaking. "We have to start getting prepared to do what we're here to do," Her brother walks out of the room, Arden following behind him. "We've been here for two months, we can't keep putting it off," Ace continues, Arden takes a seat at the dining table while Ace walks to the kitchen and leans against the white counter, Felix by his side. "He's right," Kai says, slightly hoarse. "I've been using training as a distraction, but I know we're all ready," She continues. She started pinching the top of her left hand with her right index finger and thumb, she often does that when she feels anxious. I grab onto her hand and she looks down at the floor, biting her lip.

"So, what's the plan?" Gus asks, standing up from his seat at the dining table. "When are we doing it? How dangerous is it going to be? Fuck, we're not qualified to do it ourselves, is anyone else coming?" He continues, slowly walking closer to Ace. "We're eighteen and nineteen years old, why the fuck would you bring us into it?" Gus starts picking a fight, he is now only a couple inches away from Ace. "I understand you're angry, but it's too late to go back," Ace stands up straight, looking down at the shorter boy. "It's not too late. I could easily call the cops and say you kidnapped us," Gus says, Kai gets up and walks over to the two guys, she harshly pushes Gus away from Ace. "Okay, knock it off. Gus, you can leave if you'd like. It wouldn't make much of a difference, you've barely made any progress with training. Hell, Kate is even ahead of you," she glares at Gus. I was mildly offended by the way she said I was ahead of him, but I didn't mention it.

"You won't call the cops, you know that you'd go down with us. You have weed with you, and I'm not sure if you know, but weed is illegal in Idaho," She continues, a hand still on both of the guys' chests. Gus was now quiet, I couldn't blame him. Kai is probably the scariest, and smartest when in an argument, even her 6'2 buff brother is scared of her when they argue. "So?" she breaks the silence. "Are you leaving or not?" She asks, Gus clenches his jaw. "No," he grumbles, looking down at the ground before walking away.

"To answer your questions," Ace starts, glaring at Gus who was sitting back in his seat. "We will do it in two weeks, and I have men that I've worked with in the past to help us," he looks at everyone, Kai was rubbing his back as he spoke. "As for how dangerous it is-" He catches everyone's attention. "I don't know," He mumbles. I could hear multiple sighs from around the room. "It could end with no one being harmed, or worst-case scenario, someone dies," I could feel my heart skip a beat. Gus scoffed, keeping his eyes on the table. "What will we even do if we catch him?" Felix- sitting on the counter on the left side of Ace- asks. Ace turns towards her. "When we catch him, we will either throw him into the police station- he's been on the run for two years, I'm sure they would know who he is," Ace stops, furrowing his eyebrows. "Or?" Felix asks, Ace looks at Kai. It was obvious that Kai knew what he was going to say, as if she could read his mind. "Or," Kai starts, looking at Felix. "We will have to kill him ourselves."
