"He's not breathing."

My eyes fluttered open and it took me a while to register why my bedroom walls were now made out of material, and my bed was so close to the ground. Then I remembered everything that had happened the night before, and I groaned.

"What?" Niall muttered, turning round, his eyes bleary. "You okay?" I rolled my eyes and sat up, stretching. My bones cracked and I didn't even need to look at Niall to know that was wincing.

"I'm good," I replied, flashing him a smile. He returned it and yawned, rolling over to check his phone.

"Evie, it's seven in the morning," he grumbled, lying back against his pillow. "Why can't you get up this early when we're at home?"

"Because my bed's comfy and we're," I pounded the deflating mattress for effect, "on a blow up thing."

"A blow up thing?" Niall sniggered. "Is that the best you could come up with?" I glowered at him and stole his blankets. He swore and we descended into the most pathetic fight ever, which ended with me being pinned to the sinking mattress by Niall, who had his head cocked to the side.

"I think I win," he murmured, kissing me on the forehead. I wrinkled my eyebrows at him. This close up, I could see every single of his thick lashes. Eurgh, they were so wasted on him. He had the lightest freckles imaginable scattered over his otherwise unblemished skin. I leaned up a bit and kissed him on his lips.

"Not yet," I whispered, and, before he could so anything, I kicked him off, grabbing the blankets and wrapping them around myself. I giggled at the look of confusion on his face. Then, he shook his head in defeat and began to unzip the tent, shaking water from it before stepping out into the cool morning air. Cool seemed to be an understatement; I could see the frost under Niall's feet. I smiled to myself, completely content in the warmth of my blankets.

"Did Sian and Ray even come back last night?" he asked. I looked up and saw that he was talking to Adam, who was emerging from his own tent, his hair sleep ruffled. Groaning, he nodded at one of the tents.

"Angus's in with us," he muttered, stifling a yawn. "Ray's in there with her. I'm surprised that you didn't hear them; they didn't stop moaning until four." I sniggered and pulled on a jumper. I listened to Adam and Niall continue their conversation about Ray and Sian as I put my shoes on. Then I tuned out because Adam was getting a bit too excited about my best friend.

But why shouldn't Sian try and hurt Billy; what he and Jen had done behind her back was horrible. And to think; I had been trying to get them back to being friends again. Well, I was guessing that they weren't going to be talking to each other in a civil manner for the next foreseeable future.

"Evie, what d'you want for breakfast?" Niall called. I sighed and walked out of the tent, running my fingers through my hair.

"What's there?" I yawned, sitting down on one of the seats. In response, Adam threw me a mini box of cereal.

"Crispy flakes it is then," I murmured, sliding my finger under the tab and opening it up.

"Is that enough?" Niall asked, looking at me.

"Jesus Christ, Niall, she's just pregnant," Adam groaned, flicking his lighter and trying to start a fire. "She's not bloody terminal." Niall scowled at him and I just laughed. It was all I could do; anything else would probably make Niall hit him, and while Adam probably deserved it, today was going to be about salvaging the trip, rather than just alienating each other even more.

"Yeah, it's fine," I said to him, popping one into my mouth. Niall, with his eyebrows raised, turned back to the bag of food. I glanced at Adam, who had decided, instead of eating something, he would just, you know, drink his beer. Oh jeez; he was starting early.
