"Six?!" Mono waved his hands around the sudden darkness. "Where are you?"
He breathed when he felt Six's warm hand wrap around his. Now calmer, he remembered about the flashlight in his pocket. He slid his hand down into his pocket, gripping the light and clicking the button at the end, the light now shown through.
Mono aimed the light going straight, taking a while to take everything in. "Let's head straight." Six agreed.
The sewers smelled awful, both holding in gags, the green water flowing the opposite way the two were heading, the ground was mossy and dirty, and even somewhat slick in some parts.
Mono's arm got pulled back as Six slowed down, ragging her legs behind her.
"Do you wanna rest here?" Mono asked, lightly, keeping his voice soft. Six shook her head, not wanting to rest there because of the smell. "You sure?" She just nodded. "Okay." They kept walking.
They walked for what seemed like hours, Mono slowed down a bit so that Six could walk by his side.
"We can rest once we find a way out, I promise," he whispered to her. She didn't budge her head, still looking forward, but Mono knew she had heard him.
"We ca-" Mono started again because he cut himself off, the sound of so something moving in the gross waters caught him off guard. He stopped, Six did too. The light now shining in the mucky waters, they looked around for the thing that caused the noise.
A pit grew in Mono's stomach as he watched a severed arm float down passed them. He felt sick, wanting to clutch his stomach in horror, but Six didn't seem to react.
Mono removed his eyes from gazing at the arm and continued to walk forward, trying his best to forget about it.
They walked for another unknown amount of time, Six getting slower and slower with every passing minute.
"I'm sure we are almost out, I'm sure of it," Mono tried to comfort her, hoping she'd get some sudden energy to keep going, just a little father. She nodded, speeding up a bit. The best she could.
A slithering noise started a whiles away. Mono stopped again, so did Six, gripping onto his hand for support. Mono was on high alert now. "Did you hear that?" He asked, Six nodded, looking forward, trying to get a glance at what could have caused it.
They took a couple more small slow steps forward, careful not to startle anything. Shit. Snakes. So many snakes.
Mono pushed Six behind him as the snakes slithered forward, slowly. They took a couple steps back, trying to remain quiet. Mono backed up to the wall, his arm pushing Six back with him. Don't make a sound, don't make a- crack.
Mono took a step, the sound of a twig snapping followed. A twig, really? The snakes started to pick up they're speed. Mono grabbed Six's hand running back they way they had already came.
We just went this way. "We need to find a way around them!!" He yelled to her, they snakes slowing wiggling their way closer. It was difficult to see them in the dark but Mono could tell they were all huge, especially compared to their small bodies. Their dark brown and green scales scraped against the wet concrete.
Mono continued to run until he felt Six's small hand slide her way out of his. He swifty turned to see she was pushing on an old wooden pillar. Mono sprinted back to her, seeing her idea.
The snakes arrived to the two, one taking a blind bite towards Six right as the pillar fell to the other side. Mono tugged Six closer to right as the snakes mouth barely missed her leg. Close one.
