I REMEMBER YOU

POV: Jack Shepherd

“Shh quiet!”

I tie the connected sheets to a patient bed leg so we can make a role to climb down the building through the window. The walkers outside are packed like sardines, we have to make it quick before they stomp in. William doesn't want to leave as he's itchy for the medicine to save Mila, he keeps looking outside for opportunities but it seems this wave will never last. This hospital is already dead, many doctors and nurses especially patients, since the doctors all collapsed, no one took care of those patients and they all died. Swipe the thought with a sigh, I approach William, he's a strong, big man side by side with a firefighter looking, and he thinks he can get the medicine, which is stupid.

“William, we gotta go!” I call him.

Maya pokes her head throughout the window to check. “The sheets aren't long enough, we still have the plumber a far distance.” She looks around, then takes the mattresses of the patient beds.

“These should catch us.”

I give her a hand as we throw the mattresses out of the window. “Good, now go!” I hold the sheet as Maya carefully climbs down. William is still trying to look for the medicine.

“William, let's go!”

“No.”

Shit. He is a stronghead, an idiot. To save Mila he needs to know that he must be alive. I grab his arm but he throws it hard, I try to understand his situation, but the walkers are wandering and filled the hallway. There is no way for us to check other rooms.

I look out the window as Maya safely drops on the mattresses.

“Maya, you sure checked the entire hospital?”

“Sure, nothing found”

“This is a hospital, where could the medicine be, where could it be?” I mutter to myself.

There is one thing we haven’t checked, no one has. The crazy idea to get the medicine burns in me as it's one way or another. I pull William back but he rejects to leave, I give him a trusting nod, he follows me back away from the door and I slowly unlock it. Moving away, I cup my hands around my mouth and shout.

HEYYY, WE'RE HERE!”

The snarls, growls as they stagger in the room. William and I take out our knives, ready.

"What is this?"

"Nobody's checked the doctors and nurses for medicines... they're lonely!"

William gets my ideal as he takes hd of my knife and asks me to find the medicine as he's dealing with the walkers. He keeps killing as I keep checking but we haven't found any. From far away, I see a walker wearing the scrub and in the pockets might carry something useful.

“I think I found it.”

“Good, then let's go.”

He runs towards the window and leaps outside. I found it but I haven't got it, he must misunderstood me. I look over the window as he beckons me to jump.
