Pain used to mean something, now its just a reminder that we're still here.
They call themselves "The Leftovers"- For years, these five teens shared the 5th floor of Silverbrook Memorial Hospital-the floor for "long-term recovery youth patients." Their injuries were all different, but their share of loneliness and enclosure bonded them tightly. Selene was the firecracker, Maren the heart, Adam the quiet support, Ezra the sharp-tongued realist, and Jace the reckless optimist. They spent their days sneaking around hospital halls in wheelchairs, playing pranks, and sharing ghost stories about the hospital.
They weren't really ghosts.
But no one came for them.
No one remembered their names.
No one visited the fifth floor, at least not on purpose.
They called themselves The Leftovers-Five teens who went into the hospital broken, and came out to a world more broken than them.
