Chapter 8: Team RNNJRR; Wavering Friendship

(Dairoku's POV)

After getting Qrow temporarily patched up, Ruby and I decided to take a small walk away from the others, just to catch up a little but Ruby was silent and seemed... a bit angry.

Me: Roselyn... I...

*SLAP!!!*

She just slapped me, HARD across the damn face.

Me: OWWWW!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?

Ruby: THAT WAS FOR NEARLY GIVING ME A HEART ATTACK YOU BIG DUMMY! When I saw you get strike down on Beacon Tower, I nearly lost it...

She began to sniffle as tears began falling down her face.

Ruby: When I saw that you were in a coma, I couldn't take it...! Do you know how many times I cried myself to sleep, just having thoughts that you wouldn't wake up...? Do you know how many nightmares I had of that night...? Seeing Pyrrha die and you getting struck down...?

I looked down...

Ruby: I-I'm sorry... I shouldn't have done that...

Me: No.. you're fine. But, I'm sorry for making you worried...

We stayed quiet for a short minute.

Ruby: So... is it true that you can't fly normally anymore?

I sighed and moved a bit of my collar to show the start of my scar.

Me: Yeah... *points to scar* This scar runs all the way down my back and in between my wings... I can still move them and use them to block attacks or glide but I just don't have enough feel in them to fly... The only way I was able to get here within two months was because of Barbatos.

Ruby looked down but I put my right hand on her chin and lifted her head up.

Me: But I won't let my injury stop me from fighting... it won't stop me from fighting a long your side.

I smiled at her causing her to blush but she smiled back... She then went on her toes to kiss me which I returned. When we separated, she pushed herself into my chest while I embraced her.

Ruby: I missed you so much...

Me: I missed you too... more than you think... when I was in that coma and even when I woke up, I couldn't stop worrying about your safety. It's why I got over to you as soon as I got my strength back.

She giggled before pulling away and eyeing me head to toe, while putting her hand underneath her chin.

Ruby: Hmm.... You look different.

Me: Well, considering I was asleep for around a year, yeah that tends to happen.

Ruby: Hmm... You're hair's longer and your taller now too...

She pouted a little when she mentioned that I was getting taller which caused me to chuckle

Me: Heh, don't worry. You're getting taller too so technically, we're the same height range from when we were at Beacon.

She giggled and smiled brightly at me but here, I decided to tease her a little.

Me: *smirking* Also, I've noticed... since your older now, you're deciding to show off some skin in your outfit. You trying to get someone's attention ?

A massive blush over took her face while I just laughed

Ruby: S-Shut up! I-I'm not!

Me: Hahaha, suuurrreee~

Ruby: *grumble* Hmph! *notices my arm* So, you got a new arm!

Me: Heh, yup! Works and feels like a charm.
