Scarlett's POV
"Why are you doing this?" I ask tears starting to form in my eyes.
"I had only agreed to marry you for my mother's sake, but that wasn't exactly the main reason. I needed the power and influence your family has to make me more powerful and now that I've got what I wanted, I don't need you anymore," he replies harshly, as he points the gun directly at me.
"You don't have to kill me, you can just send me away, you don't have to do this," I plead, begging for my life.
"If I let you go, you might run your mouth like a little birdie, and I don't want that. So you just have to die," he says.
Before I could get another word out, there was a loud bang and I felt 2 excruciating pain in my abdomen. He had shot me twice.
The last thing I see is his cold eyes boring into mine, his lips form into a triumphant smirk as he walks away leaving me on the cold desolate floor and then I pass out.
