We arrived on the other side of the building where Jean was probably hiding.

"She's in there," the woman said as we walked toward her.

"Hello, old friends," a familiar voice said.

We turned to see Charles.

"Save the 'old friends' shit, Charles. And stay out of our way," Erik said coldly.

"I'm sorry for what she did. But I can't let you go in there," Charles replied.

"You're always sorry, Charles. And there's always a speech. But nobody cares anymore," Erik shot back.

"If we do this here, now, they'll see us as monsters," Charles warned.

"Violent freaks, fighting in the streets of New York," he continued.

"What did I tell you?" Erik said.

"Damn it, man—your homeland will be gone. Everything you care about," Charles said, a note of desperation in his voice.

"Save it," Erik snapped.

"If you touch her, I will fucking kill you." Scott said to us.

"Don't do this." Charles told us.

"Killing Jean will not bring Raven back." Charles told him.

"The girl dies." Erik said as we ran towards the building Jean was in.

You floated up into the air, magic pulsing around you, then dropped down and landed in the middle of the road.

A red blast hit you in the shoulder—Cyclops. You were thrown back, slamming into a nearby car.

Grimacing, you pushed yourself up and hurled a blast of magic toward Scott. He dodged it just in time.

"Kurt! I need you!" Scott shouted as you fired again, narrowly missing him.

In a blink, Kurt appeared behind Scott, grabbed him, and teleported away—just as your next blast struck the side of the building.

You moved through the chaos, searching. You spotted Scott again, firing a beam directly at Erik.

You gathered a ball of magic in your hands and hurled it with precision—sending Scott flying back.

The ground rumbled beneath you. Suddenly, a subway train burst up from underground, tearing through concrete as it sped toward the building.

"Hold them!" Erik shouted. The train followed him inside as he charged toward Jean.

A few tense minutes passed.

Then Erik came flying out of the building, crashing hard onto the pavement.

"Erik!" you shouted, running toward him.

Before you could reach him, the sound of screeching tires cut through the air. Trucks pulled up. Armed soldiers jumped out, surrounding you.

Several approached, rifles raised. One of them fired something that struck you—electricity surged through your body, and everything went dark.
