"I can do this"

Monday, the start of a new school week  and a continuation of a long early morning  because you were unable to sleep.

I can do this.

No matter what you did.  The lingering feeling of his lips melding against yours tormented your thoughts. Captivated by the current rerun, blood rushed to your cheeks as a small part of your internal voice  yelled as if it were clanging pots and pans.

You can't keep doing this!

In contrast, a stubborn, fearful , and louder voice countered with its own repetitive mantra.

I CAN DO THIS!

Resolving to push through the day,  you yawned walking to the ladies room to put water on your face. Hoping the cold water would do more than wake you up.

I can do this.

The  lady managers for VBC Fukurodani, Yukie Shirofuku and Kaori Suzumeda spoke as they walked to class.

"You aren't coming for the three day training Kaori-chan?"

"No, my family is going to Kyoto to visit my grandparents that weekend."

"Do you think you can find a substitute for that weekend? Maybe an underclassmen?"

Yukie suggested as she eyed you walking ahead and into the girl's restroom. A brilliant idea struck her.

"Ah YN-chan's been coming to practices a lot lately hasn't she?"

Yukie questioned Kaori.

Kaori looked at you and nodded in agreement.

"And she's a lot like Akasshi-kun, a natural when dealing with Boukto's mood swings."

"Lets go ask her."

The two seniors caught you in the middle of washing your face. Squinting from the water Kaori gave you a paper towel to dry your face. As they ping ponged their sales pitch about the manager's role.

"It's really a simple job."

"You've been to most of our practices."

"You're practically an honorary assistant manager..."

"and you can persuade Bokuto-kun from his emo mode."

You fought back the instantaneous thought of Kou as your face mirrored the disappointment the two girls showed when you politely declined and left to class.
