A/N: Before I begin, I want to tell you all something...

EVERYONE GO CHECK OUT STOLEN HOPE RIGHT NOW!!! DO IT RIGHT NOW OR SHINYA YAMAZAKI WILL STEAL YOUR KNEECAPS!!!!

Okay, I'm done now.

--------------

Hello hello everyone! I have been obsessing over Stolen Hope and Despair Time for the past 2 months now since 2021. I want you all to know that Despair Time chapter 1 has wrecked me mentally/emotionally just so you know! :D Thank you DT creator! ;)

I definitely want to make some theories/predictions about Despair Time. Especially since I found a mysterious link to a certain character a few days ago on the official Tumblr...;)

But today, I will be discussing Stolen Hope and overanalyzing things that should not come across as a big deal...but I think about those things and I want to say something about those things.

I have not made many predictions/theories like this in a series before, so bear with me here! ;)

So, for the 5% of you all reading this (Wattpad or Discord), here are my 4 theories regarding Stolen Hope (they will be divided into sub-sections/points because of how long they are).

The intuition powers have awoken in me!!!

Please note that these are merely just theories and I know little to nothing about the plot. Do not take these seriously! If some of what I say may be confusing/unclear or offensive, I apologize. It is unintentional most of the time. Proofreading is my weakest aspect when it comes to writing as I am told.

1. The series will center around a theme of Forgiveness and Condemnation.

a. One of the trailers for the series displays the usual hope vs despair and truth vs lies theme on the screen. Right after that, the screen displays the words "Forgive" and "Condemn" before the following scenes. In other words, it will be the focal theme of this series unlike hope vs despair. This is the most obvious point I have made so far, sorry.

((You're better than this, Mystery. *Cries*))

b. Monoakuma is the mascot of this series and the King of Raion City. However, in recent updates and posts, we see a blue and white bear with an angel aesthetic. Monoakuma represents condemnation/punishment while his polar opposite, I'll call them Monotenshi/Tenshikuma for now (Akuma=Devil, Tenshi=Angel), represents forgiveness/redemption. As of now, it is unknown if Monotenshi/Tenshikuma is an alternate version of Monoakuma that shares a body with him (similar to Kokorosaru/Bizzarosaru from Kill/Cure), or they are two separate beings who are rivals. It is most likely the latter theory but it is not made clear yet. Perhaps Monotenshi/Tenshikuma plays a much bigger role despite limited content in contrast to Monoakuma.

c. The remaining 57 seconds of Kyohei Matsuda's character reveal states that humanity is capable of committing good and bad deeds. Certain morally ambiguous acts committed throughout this series will determine the vice and versa theme. For example, since Kyohei's trailer was the only one that hinted at what possible actions the characters will commit, he and his talent as the Ultimate Interrogator will determine whether one must be punished or vindicated for their actions. What good intentions reside under the immoral act of murdering someone, especially in a killing game? What sinister traits lie underneath that smile of trust? On one hand, the fact that Kyohei's talent resides under law enforcement gives him knowledge on the psychology of criminals and their motives, thus making him trustworthy amongst his classmates. In Chapter 6, Kyohei uses his skills against the mastermind to expose them for their actions. Depending on the culprit's motives and actions throughout chapters 1-5, Kyohei uses their motives as a way of showing that punishment is not always a morally good method and that will always be a chance in life to redirect yourself onto a path of forgiveness. Condemnation and judgment will only further twist your perspective on morality as a whole.
