Sad, isn't it! That most of us are brought up to believe that our lives are just but mere lives that must revolve around family. That everything thing you do you must consider a family that will rarely consider you. That you must bear the burden of a family that is so foreign to you. That you must smile and help to cover up the ugliness that the family is built upon and must be silent when anyone asks... All is well after all, it is how families are supposed to be. You owe so much loyalty to the ones that hurt you the most because you were led to believe that only they can love you the most, if you even deserve to be loved. You shouldn't question the values that have been handed down through generations. No matter how contradictory. No matter how discriminative. You have led a life that has made you more loyal to anyone but yourself. You don't know what more there is to life other than being obligated to family. You live life so selflessly for people who would not dare to be selfish for you unless it is a matter of the family name. You live with people who care more about what others will say than whether or not you are happy today... It's okay to choose yourself first, it will be lonely and sad. You will be angry and confused but in the end you'll thank yourself for stepping in that direction.
