Alice landed with the rabbit in a room with one normally sized door, no table, no key, and no potions nor cakes.
“This isn’t the right place…” Alice noted.
“I rerouted the rabbit hole.” Twisp explained.
“You can do that?” Alice asked. He opened the door, not answering her.
“This way.” Twisp opened the door, and walked her all the way to the tea table at the march hare’s house, where Mally the dormouse, Thackery the march hare, Chashier the cat, and Tarant the mad Hatter, were all having tea, laughing loudly, and sleeping too(It really depended on what time of day you caught them at). Twisp told Alice to stay where she was, which was at the edge of the forest of which the ones at the table didn't see her. Twisp walked all the way to the table and sat, the Hatter and the others welcomed him at the table asking him how he was and so on, flailing their hands and laughing.
The sight of Hatter again was very exciting to Alice. She had missed him so much, she and him had a very deep connection.
When Twisp Spoke Alice couldn't hear him. After Twisp had spoken Hatter got very excited, and jumped out of his seat, looking around frantically.
“Where IS she?” Alice heard Hatter say faintly. Hatter started looking around suspiciously. Twisp pointed at Alice, and Hatter rushed over to see her.
“Alice!” He exclaimed, hugging her tightly. “You came back!”
“I’ve missed you Hatter.” Alice said, hugging him back.
“As have I, dear.” Hatter smiled brightly. They stood there greeting each other for quite some time, catching up, before Twisp interrupted them to take them back to the table.
Alice said hello to Mally, Chechur, and even Thackery, even if he was out of his mind, and although they all wanted to talk to her Thackery, Mally, and twisp all suggested that she visit the White Queen immediately. It was unlike them to put down talking to Alice, which made her suspicious.
Hatter was especially happy to see her. He was talking on their way to the palace, and slightly skipping instead of walking.
“I've been waiting very long for you to come back in fact I've been waiting for about a year now not to make you feel bad or anything but I really was hoping that you weren't being truthful when you said that you thought you might not see me again-” Hatter began to ramble.
“Hatter!” Alice stopped him. Hatter shook his head.
“I’m fine…” He whispered. Once they got to the White Palace they were welcomed by Bayard and one of his pups, who was now grown up.
“We got word that you were coming.” Bayard said.
“Yeah, the queen told us that you were comin’, so she put us to greet you all.” Bailey, Bayard’s pup said.
“What? How did you know that we were coming?” Twisp questioned. A specific cat showed up next to him.
“You're welcome.” Cheshire grinned. Alice smiled, she had been wondering where he’d gone.
The White Queen was very excited to see Alice, as were the tweedles, although they didn't get to talk to her much before Twisp stopped them telling the White Queen that there was business to be discussed.
“But, we wanna talk to Alice!” Tweedle dum complained.
“Yeah! She doesn’t just come here everyday, nohow!” Mally rolled her eyes.
“Oi, Hatter, why don't you and Alice go get some fresh air?” Mally said. Hatter nodded, taking Alice by the hand, and starting for the door, but Mally spoke again. “Oh, and Bayard,” Mally said. “Go with them. Keep them out of trouble.” Bayard walked toward the palace doors.
“Pardon?” Hatter said, obviously offended.
“Go.” Mally pushed.
“But why-?” Alice began.
“Just. Go.” Mally said sternly. Alice, Hatter, and Bayard made their way out of the palace doors, and walked right outside of the palace walls where they found a small field of nice colorful flowers.
“What are they hiding?” Alice questioned.
“Something exciting I hope.” Hatter said, marveling at the bright pastel flowers. Hatter soon began to pick the flowers. Alice started picking as well, making sure none of them had faces.
Hatter picked a bunch and turned back around to show Alice, but to their surprise, they were much closer than before. Hatter smiled at Alice warmly. Alice smiled back. Hatter turned back around to continue picking flowers, as did Alice, without a word to each other.
“Um… maybe we should go now?” Bayard said, a while later.
“Yes.” Alice agreed. “Hatter are you done?” Hatter turned around holding so many flowers that you couldn’t see his face.
“I don’t know.” He said genuinely. “What do you think?” Alice picked a single flower, and placed it in the pile.
“Perfect.” She mused. They walked back to the palace’s doorway, where, the queen, who opened the door, nearly screamed when she saw Hatter’s flower pile. She led Hatter back into the palace, and took Alice back outside.
“Alice,” The queen said seriously. “Twisp told us something about your life in the overland… and I am sorry about all that, but I need to ask: If you were asked to stay in Underland… what would you say?”
